Apart from all that, my biggest tip would be to be patient with it. DPDR is a mind pattern. It will take time no matter what. You need to learn to think in better ways than you have been doing, just start with some self-help books. Also, try EMDR if you have bit of PTSD problems. It helps tremendously. Also CBD oil if your anxiety is too much.

@@marioncarbonell6047 I used to have that head pressure but I only get those when I get super stressed or exercise too hard. I found another KZbin channel called OCD recovery who does great videos on this subject. They are worth checking out. Also go and read Claire Weekes - self help for your nerves, Albert Ellis - How to stubbornly refuse to make yourself miserable about anything and Paul David - at last a life. Across those three books they outline everything you need to get better. I'm not completely recovered but I rarely feel anxious and most symptoms are gone. Just the lack of feeling but that's starting to get better. Basically you need to learn to get comfortable with the lack of emotions and the symptoms you experience. Once that happens and you're trying to live your life as normal as possible you'll get better.

Im 19 and most of us experience emotional blunting due to trauma in early childhood, I’ve had DPDR since I turned 12 and it only got progressively worse, last year is when it went extremely downhill and I completely lost my emotions…I’ve been like this for about 10 months and I hope it goes away for all of us, it sucks that this had to happen to me as soon as I graduated and started college, it’s devastating

I have known something vital & powerful Wich is social media is a numbing tool & when ever u feel sad & run out to social media u are not accepting the negative emotion but you are denying the emotion & when you deny the emotion u won't feelTheBadEmotion& if u don't feel bad you won't feel the good so Numbness comes from denying the bad emotion so u won't feel any emotion

I'm not sure what caused my emotional numbness, whether it's the depression itself or the antidepressants I'm taking. I was under a ton of negative emotion when I was terribly depressed and wanted to do anything that would alleviate my suffering. So I decided to go on SSRI medication. It was such a relief when the medication kicked in and I sort of become stable and got this buffer from the darkness that heavily weighed down on me. But with the darkness gone, I feel like time has stuck at dawn and the sun is not rising. I feel nothing at all! I don't enjoy music as I once did. I'm not passionate about what I do and I don't care about it. The girl I used to love and she is actually the one who triggered my depression, by the way, I don't feel any connection to her anymore. I'm not mad at her or anything just that I don't care if she is in or out of my life anymore. It scares me how careless and detached I have become from almost everything. I completed collage like three months back with good grades. In fact, I was the third top scorer from my department. But, all of that made no sense, like it matters not even one bit. I used to love what I do so much that now I look back at it, it was what gave me a sense of purpose and reason to exist. All of that is gone now. I have easily switched careers and decided to work from home as a web developer. What the hell!!!!????

I’m glad I read your comment because I can relate completely. Unfortunately I was put on meds when I was 17 and I wasn’t mature enough to know the dangers or whether there were other options. I feel like at the time meds might have been the right way but only as a temporary solution. Long story short I have been on them now for 13 years and it never even crossed my mind to think that I should try to go without them and trying other things like exercise, eating healthy, therapy etc. I almost feel like the meds gave me emotional numbness but I never noticed it till about 3 years ago. I finally made the decision to slowly try and taper off. I got down to 5mg parole time and I think I’m gonna stay on this for atleast 6 months or more before going further. I luckily didn’t have any crazy withdrawals in the taper so far but I think I went to quick and tried going from 5mg to 0 too fast and I had a breakdown one day. I also made the decision to fight and not just let it bog me down and use depression as an excuse to complain and sulk. I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me and I hope you have great results and can find peace as well. Cheers bud!

@@Holedwllr I feel ya. I was also put on SSRIs when I was too young (10 years old) to understand the risks. I'm 33 now and am tappering off of Paroxetine. I was originally at 40mg/day but 6 months into tappering, I'm now at 17.5mg. It's been tough but possible. Mostly I'm feeling tired and numb. I don't understand whether I'm emotionally numbed or it's the inner peace? I can't feel right away when things happen to me rather I get it later after much contemplation and processing. My emtions were always mocked at and taken advantage of and mostly drained by others so I prefer not to engage any emtions with people I deal day to day because engaging emotions have always led me to ending relationship. I have forgotten last time I felt happy. I always show up with positivity, I rarely nag or complaint. I show people the positive side of every situation, I lend them ear whenever they vent.

She explained how emotional numbness first started feeling. She said it feels like someone turned off all the lights inside. You can’t tell what changed and everything just seems “silent” which is how emotional numbness feels like. For the first month she didn’t try to do anything about it later on she was in agony and wanted someone to stop all this. -She said the first step to recovery is accepting. She got a dog which helped her a bit during the process of picking the dog but when she got the dog she didnt feel like she cared about it nor that she wanted to take care of it but she fought internally with herself, she told herself that having a dog was her dream how can she feel nothing towards it when it was all she wanted. She started focusing on the dog’s cute tail and the dog’s cute ears and it slowly brought out little emotion. -You have to appreciate everything around you. When you drink a cup of tea you have to tell yourself that you love this cup of tea. You have to force positive thoughts about things that you like in your mind so these thoughts slowly bring out feelings.

I had it and have made a lot of progress in recovery. Everything in this video has been my experience as well. Pay close attention to everything in it. This path is neither easy nor a quick fix. But it is a path that is natural, free, has no side effects, and can help you permanently - unlike the experience of many who rely only on modern meds. How long your recovery takes depends on treating the underlying causes mentioned in the video as well as your dedication to the exercises mentioned in the video. But as the same video correctly states thia is a journey, not a quick fix. Based on my experience I believe you can and will recover, but you have to pray to God, examine your history and face it, treating the damage you have suffered, and do what is said in this video.

It is not as bad now. I dont work, but this is for other reasons. My day looks like lots of other people's really, cleaning the house seeing family and the 1 or 2 friends I have, doing things, it's just that I am not really feeling anything when I do them. So yes it's very easy for me to stop doing all of these and develop depression on top of the numbness because I'm getting nothing out of the activities and it's distressing. But I know that I need to keep living, in the past it was hell, but it's better now because the numbness has lifted a bit through going to therapy. There's a reason you're numb you have to dig and think about if there was anything that happened as a child and resolve it within yourself

I'm also emotionally numb from anxiety and depression. Idk if this could help, but brain fog is very easy to treat. I am from th Philippines. We call this "kabuhi"(in cebuano) idk what's the accurate term in english sorry. But when we experience this especially the elders we just go to a "manghihilot" or like massage therapist(sorry I also don't have any idea about the accurate translation to it) but just try to research about "hilot para sa kabuhi na ni saka sa ulo" . for us it's an air that goes up to you brain that makes it very foggy. The most known cause for this is not eating your meal at the right time. Then the therapist will massage a certain part of your body specifically in your abdomen or stomach part to release that air from your brain. It totally works by just 1-2 days you can already feel the improvement. I am actually having it again right now cuz of numbness I also couldn't feel hunger, but I am going back to the "manghihilot" now.
