That was absolutely INSANE!!!
I can't believe I did it!!! I had the TOLAC (16hours) I have been praying, for that ended in a VBAC at 1151am this morning July 3, 2020! (pushed for 2 hours) 😭 Crying tears of happiness!! There were SO many instances that I wanted to just “give up!”... I never said it out loud! but things got so intense at times that it was very overwhelming!
I was trying to figure out if I was in active labor at home from 745pm-11pm, contractions with cramps got to 5-6minutes apart consistently... to the point where I couldn’t stand, sit, walk or lay through them!! I then called the midwife, didn’t get a call back in 30min so we said screw it & got in the car anyway to go to the hospital!! Called the midwife back again, as we were on our way she called back, she basically said at 5-6min I could stay home and come in when they are closer to 3min apart!! & said unless you want pain medication I don’t have to come in yet. The thought of going back home made me want to rip my hair out!!
By the time I got to the hospital I made Joe get a wheelchair Bc I was scared I would collapse on the way in!! When the midwife checked me I was 4cm dilated and within the hour contractions were 3-4 min apart!!! And so intense!!!
I got the epidural as soon as they officially admitted me!!! After they inserted the foley they said I was SUPER dehydrated!! (And that’s why my labor was so insane) They gave me 2.5liters of IV fluids. After getting the epidural I was able to chill out, it’s just AMAZING that I couldn’t feel any contractions considering how intense &painful they were.
By 0520am- I was 8cm & the midwife broke my water!, By 0915am I was 10cm and fully effaced. By that time I also had a random fever that progressed to 101.0, & I felt it!! I had the fever eyes and a headache on the front of my head, hot with the shakes, they gave me 2 IV antibiotics.
By 1000am we started pushing!! When her head got really low I was feeling it all again, they lowered my epidural so I could feel the sensation to push, that was horrible. I felt everything.
Pushed for 2hours they said I did really well.... she was stuck & “almost out” for way longer than normal...I had a “strong perineum” 🙄.. ended with a 2nd degree tear, and hemorrhaged, oh and I’m a screamer... like bad hahaha!!! (So embarrassing!!!!) .
And baby girls HR was spiking/worries Bc I had a temp the neonatal Dr had to assess her soon after she came out … Then the placenta was stuck/attached to my uterine wall...almost had to have surgery if she didn’t end up getting go it out
Baby girl is Coombs Positive...
And joe who watched the entire thing also acted as my right leg stirrup 😂😂🙈
“Oh what a night”
But long story short… Mom & Baby are doing great💕
