Elvis won awards for his gospel music. He grew up in the Pentecostal church, and he was a believer. He didn't like it when fans called him the King. He said: "There is only one King and that is Jesus Christ". Gospel was his favorite music! You can feel the Holy Spirit when he sings gospel.

Not necessarily the Bible, but of Religion. He sought spirituality in all different religions.

@@KojinMacJorn No you are inorrect. Elvis was a born again Christian and the Bible by far was his favorite book.He had one in every room at Graceland.Once he took it to a Don Rickles show and was called to the stage.On stage he had his Bible and read from Corinthians. Elvis was a voracious reader.He studied many religions and philosophies.He felt tbat many great men with great knowledge were represented in these books.He learned from these studies but he never forsook Christianity for any other religion. Elvis was a Christian faith healer. He believed God gave him soecial talents so his singing could lead people to Christ.

If you ever are able to travel to The USA, May I recommend you visit his home Graceland, especially During Christmas. His most favorite time of the year ( His mother was Jewish btw but Elvis was very much Christian ) You cannot tour the upstairs though, that's off limits to the public. Always has been since it was turned into a museum. You can view all kinds of pics, videos of Graceland from various times of the year.

Frankly, he's a poor example. Try the Apostle Paul and others throughout Church History. who were much more biblically centered.

@@timcarr6401 I didn't know there's a right or wrong way to find God. There's different ways. I' m happy your way worked for you.
@timcarr64013 жыл бұрын
@@robbansa There is only one way to God, and that is through Jesus Christ. There are not multiple ways. "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12) Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6) "Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life." (1 John 4:12) Jesus said "Whoever believes in me is not condemned. However, the person who does not believe stands condemned already because he has refused to put his faith in me, God's one and only Son." (John 3:18) "For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus." (1 Timothy 2:5)
@robbansa3 жыл бұрын
@@timcarr6401 Apostle Paul and Elvis is both a way to find God. I'm sure there's many more ways. Hitting fellow believers in the head with the bible isn't the best way in my opinion. What we are discussing here is there are different ways to find Jesus. Your way is right for you, but you have to considder other ways to. The most important thing is that you find Jesus and the Fathet, not what way you took.
@timcarr64013 жыл бұрын
@@robbansa Quoting pertinent passages that deal with the subject-at-hand is the only way to settle the issue. The way to God is not a multiple choice matter. You are taking the broad way that leads to destruction. But the narrow way leads to life eternal. The Bible way is not PC, the singularity is repugnant to the unconverted who want an all-inclusive means. The Holy Scripture of Genesis to Revelation stands as the sole authoritative source for truth. And dealing with eternal matters, the Bible doesn't give opinions, but what God has said.

Part 3 and I swear I'm done! I promise! Elvis had naturally VERY Light colored hair, his twin brother died at birth, His high school music teacher actually told him that he could NOT SING. Yeah that teacher ate ALOT OF CROW. Elvis took the Devil to Church reminding him that his days were numbered by JESUS CHRIST ALMIGHTY! When he died, EVERY TV and Radio Station interrupted programming to announce the TERRIBLE SAD NEWS THAT THE KING WAS GONE. Phone lines across NUMEROUS CONTINENTS were JAMMED.. Flower sales set a record that to this day, still has not been topped. People lined up for miles to watch his funeral precession go by. Did you know he was instrumental in the Pearl Harbor Memorial becoming a reality. in 1961 when he was like 26 years old ( which was the average age of the poor souls there) They raised $ 62,000 to get the Memorial rolling. It was he who DAMANDED all proceeds go towards it. He PAID all of the acts that performed and he even BOUGHT the first ticket for $100 PLUS included an extra $5,000 . Remember he himself is a Military Vet, Serving in the US Army. Oh yeah, 1 of his back up singers was the mother of the late great Whitney Houston, She was in such awe of THE KING That there were times she actually forgot to sing. The God Father Of Soul, the Late Great James Brown broke down and cried for hours. And his only grandson who looks ALOT like his very famous grandfather killed himself sadly and is buried at Graceland along with his great grandparents, HUGELY FAMOUS father and some other relatives.
