When he was young, his father was incarcerated while his mother left him alone with his younger sibling and went to Philippine Capital Manila. His childhood years was a difficult life, for he used to live on the streets to earn something for a living. He’s been singing since 7 years old but only at the age of 18 that he then realized that he could make a career out of it. Marcelito did not manage to complete his studies but started doing odd jobs to earn a living, and a police officer later adopted him. (2) Marcelito unique ability is that he can sing in both a male tenor voice and a female soprano voice. Because of this, he’s able to perform popular male-female duets without a partner. Also he sings both high and low parts, but he switches back and forth between them smoothly. A great performance of Marcelito includes “The Prayer”, “The Power of Love and” “Beauty and the Beast.” (3) Marcelito is the winner of ‘Pilipinas Got Talent’ Season 2 in 2011. As a result of being on the show, he was able to reunite with his family. His mother abandoned him as a child when his father was in prison, and she asked his forgiveness when they met again. His family also attended the show’s finals to see him perform. In 2014 he got married to Joan Paraiso and had one daughter. (4) In 2019 he took part in America's Got Talent: The Champions and earned a fourth runner up. Marcelito applied professional attention to each line & put forth incredible delivery. I visited the Philippines in the Navy & it was standard practice of all musicians there to "Mimick" the bands they were playing. "Journey" found Arnel there from a video & he toured with them as he sounded a lot like Steve Perry. Then did albums. This stuff from Marcelito though is next level with that vocal chord ability. I saw him on Ellen with a "translator" as he wasn't up on English. He should pursue the classical genre. With a voice like that? The 107.5 Wish Bus is like Coast to Coast but, for music.
