A subscriber named The Forbidden One commented on my last E.S.D. video saying that they were feeling depressed but this idea of looking at a duck helped them feel better for a moment.
I honestly didnt think anyone would watch that video but i figured i would put it out there in case there was anyone who was feeling like i was feeling, so the fact that there were any comments at all inspired me, so i told The Forbidden One that i would make a video just for them and i got to it right away.
So here it is, i know this is a simple video but i hope this makes sense to you or at least provides an opportunity to badically sit around with me and wrinkle and forget about the awful things for like 5 minutes or so before getting back to “real life” ✌️

Thank you for taking the time to write this, I had a moment of insecurity right before I pulled out my phone and started recording this. In that moment a voice in my head, my voice, said people will think this is stupid and you’re corny and just focus on editing videos of wrinkle that the people on Tiktok would like because your engagement has been dropping because you’re not doing trends and the things people want to see. And then I stopped and said no forget that noise, be you and don’t think and just do; there has to be at least one person who will appreciate what you’re trying to do. I know that voice will pop up again from time to time, but it’s a comment like this right now that really helps to fight that insecurity voice next time, and for this Wrinkle and I both thank you 🙏❤️🦢

As someone who struggles with mental health issues I can 100% say that animals really do help out a-lot. If you're ever in a hard spot just look at a dog, cat, whatever animal you have. They love you unconditionally and will always be there for you, and know that when they look at you they also share that lil happiness. 💖

When I get really emotional about something, my one cat literally comes running and crawls on top of me to cuddle. I also choked on something a couple weeks ago and he literally came up and started meowing at me to figure out what was wrong. My mental health would be substantially worse without animals.

I feel for you, recently my OCD has had a really bad relapse and I am constantly struggling. I was diagnosed about 8 or 9 years ago by another doctor, but then my regular doctor shrugged it off as "misdiagnosis" because I was managing well for years and being able to normally function daily... until recently 😓 I too have really strong checking compulsions, and ever since working in a pharmacy I specifically feel the need to count and recount things a lot. If you wanna talk I am here, I hope we can provide some comfort knowing we understand each others' struggles 👐

Hey, all, I just wanted to say that NAC is sometimes prescribed for obsessive thoughts and behaviors. If you're struggling with normal treatment you could ask your psych if you could try it. I don't have ocd, but it helped me manage some skin picking behavior on a pretty low dose. I was taking it for other reasons, not knowing that it is prescribed by psychiatrists sometimes, and got a bonus behavior revamp.

Filling up the kiddie pool gets me out of my deepest funk. Even if it's just for a little while, it's the best! The ducks get so excited when the water is running, then they do the head-bob and the dunk-and-wag, and that just gets me every time. It makes me so happy!

I agree, you do have a very relaxing voice. I really adore Wrinkle's duck sounds! I have about 30 chickens, and get the same relaxed enjoyment while watching them go about their chickeny day. Several of my feathered friends have quite the personality - Buddy (BudBud) the rooster, who must talk about EVERYTHING in the most dramatic way; the Katie trio (named after a friend) who absolutely MUST jump into the feed bin whenever it's open for refilling; and our darling Thing (yes, "Thing" is her real name), who would be happy if you carried her around with you all day. Lots of critters can bring joy and relaxation into our lives - and I'm especially delighted to know about Wrinkle, because she's wonderful. Ducks are great as pets. When I was a child in Spain, there was a fad of keeping ducklings in flats. We were gifted a yellow duckling when my sister had her tonsils removed, and Saturnina, ‘Satu’, grew up happily into a magnificent white female with a curly feather at the base of her tail. I loved that duck to pieces and keep fond memories over 50 years later. That’s a little homage to you, Satu, my dear childhood companion. 🦆

It's true. You can't look at ducks and not feel at least a bit of joy. There are a few ducks who visit our lawn every summer. One pair has been coming for almost ten years now. People in the neighbourhood stop to watch them, and they rarely leave without a smile. A duck might not help you climb out of the depression hole, but maybe it's the little glimpse of light that helps you last another day. Thank you for sharing your duck with the world!

They definitely are emotional support, even if not as imprinted as this one :-) Just watching them is fun. I have 6, 1 in particular will allow pets with or without treat, a couple with treats, the others not so much. But they're a joy when they follow me around, watching them dip, dunk, waddle, dive under the water etc. And their antics are hilarious
