Colby, your past story is part of your testimony. Sharing how God helped you and saved you from the chaos you didn't deserve will undoubtedly benefit another soul who heard it. I'm not telling you to share right now; I pray that one day you will be ready to share it with others. You will be surprised how many lives you will draw close to God by your story.

Allie and Colby, you keep getting better each time! This was a great topic to hit on. It really spoke to anyone would be even slightly introverted and wanting g to repress and ignore any emotion. It also applies to those who, due to some sort of trauma, whether terrible bouts of sickness or abuse of any kind, just disassociates from emotion. It will be a tough journey to reconnect and express those emotions in a healthy way, but it will be worth it! Thanks y'all for driving this point home to me and so very many others!

My pastor always tells me, "Emotions are great foot soldiers, but terrible generals." If you lead your emotions they can be used for the glory of God. If you're led by your emotions, you will have no stability and will be very prone to giving into the flesh. So use those feelings for His glory, they're a blessing if we use them correctly!

Beautiful podcast, sometimes emotions are so hard to deal with that you just want to sweep them under the rug! Today I learned that the rug should be rolled back and those old emotions should be dealt with! Thank you! 🥰

Yesterday, I was speaking with a customer about a dress she was buying. I ended up finding out she was buying it to wear to her father’s funeral. All I could say was that my heart broke for her. All I could think was take a few minutes to meet with her in her time of grieving. All that to say, emotions do connect us to one another and to God. They serve a purpose; we just have to take the time to address them.

I just found y'all Wednesday, and oh my goodness, these podcasts have been so good. I love Jennie Allen. Her books have helped me so much, and I'm excited to dig into this one. I love that Colby was comfortable enough to share, and I wholeheartedly agree with what Allie said about God redeeming our pasts.

No Colby, you're wrong when you when you said people don't care about how you feel.. I'm always wondering and waiting for you to tell your story because, I've always wondered how Great God is in your life, whatever you've been through but look at you now. I want to see and know God, his greatness and his faithfulness in your life, and great and mighty is His works in your life. I hope someday you'll share your testimony. Been waiting for it. I think this is just simply put be real with God and share your heart with Him about things your going through and He will heal your heart! ❤ Ask Jesus the hard questions and be honest with Him. He will walk you through it and share the truth with you.

emotions are not tools of cognition.. they can't tell you anything about reality. they're like getting directions from a stranger on the street - they can tell you you're going the wrong way but they can't give specific instructions on how to get to your desired destination. if you want to survive on this planet, or any other, you'll have to use a process of reason to understand reality as best you can so you can make informed decisions on what will help and what will hinder your long term goals.
