Fascinating video THTD. I like how you said how that system is future proofed. I remember buying my first home theater system and having it installed. As soon as they installed it, it almost became obsolete. Kinda like buying a new car and is soon as you get it off of the showroom floor, you find that the newer model that comes out the next month has a lot of cool features that you would've liked in your car. The ability to upgrade and change everything around as new technology becomes available, is a nice feature. Congrats again to you and your wife on the birth of your first child.

Mark Weber daisy chain is easy and doesn’t cause problems. You have the option to either use one sub or three in this unit without upgrading. All you have to do is program the other two outs in the menu screen to support subs. The only down side is that you lose a pair of heights. Either ways you are still looking at 2 more speakers than the competition right now

If I saw/heard correctly, this unit does not have eARK? I sometimes have my tv play files directly using Plex or DS Video which have ATMOS sound and without eARK, it would make those soundtracks useless and have to be processed down in order to play. Correct me if I am wrong about this pre-processor please. Also, I only ran a 12ga cable to my sub, not XLR. Was this a mistake? Should I make holes and run XLR anywhere/to any other speakers before I completely finish my walls and install my tiles?

if your sub and processor has the option for XLR, i would use XLR. eARC is usually only on hdmi 2.1 this is still HDMI 2.0 18gb/s 4:4:4

I only ran 12 gauge cables to my speaker positions and coax cables to 3 positions for possible subwoofer locations and a forth front subwoofer location with a subwoofer rca cable. Now to ask again, is it ok that the speakers were all run this way or do I need to still go XLR to every speaker or the ones I can? And again, website I can look at for the xlr cables? XLR are only for processor to amplifier connections. you still get normal speaker wire coming from your amplifier to your speakers. make sense?

There are 16 channels availabe to be hooked up direct to the processor. That means 9.1.6 to make 16. If you have a 9.2.6 then you need to daisy chain to account for the second subwoofer.... or just buy the expansion module

How do you fix a video? Its out. I cant change it. I have been in talks with epson and they are supposed to send out a review unit for the 5050. I can do another test then. Focus withstanding there was a difference in overall color and contrast between the two. sharpness will probably be a tie. Im just talking about what i saw when they were both fired up

I hope the RMC-1 works well for you. The thing that keeps me from considering this pre-amp is that Emotiva is known for releasing products at basically their Beta stage. You are the guinea pig until they can completely iron out the firmware issues... and sometimes they can't.

Dan Hitchman the unit has been out for about a year now. They just released a massive update to the software. Most issues have been fixed from what I’m told. I’ll let you guys know very soon.

First, congrats on the baby. Second, Too bad that the RMC-1 is a huge flop. It’s still in beta, just not officially. Several firmware updates have gone out. They released it without many of the promised features and still has issues. And, It still doesn’t even have room correction software working on it. Check out their own forums on it.

There was an update that came out this week that addressed a huge majority of the shortcomings. they are releasing the RMC2 and XMC-2 in the next month or so. and they all use the same software. They are in the process of streamlining the software for the new releases. I know it had issues before but i cant speak to them because I have the product currently. I will report what i find

@@ThatHomeTheaterDude The new update didn't fix everything and there are still many issues. HDMI out and sound issues (which is a huge problem considering sound is the main purpose of this thing) are still some of the biggest problems on this thing. Plus, it still doesn't have Dirac Live. Which was one of he biggest promised items. The RMC-1 has been out for 9 months and still doesn't work have all the promised features? That's a big no-no in my book. I ordered and cancelled it before it shipped after all the problems started coming out. There is a thread on their forums for owners and it's up to 190 pages. Oh, and that is the second thread. The first one was locked. In my opinion, they should not release the XMC-2 and RMC-2 until they are fully functioning units. I know I won't be wasting my money on them. With all this said, I do want to see them succeed. Unfortunately they are not there yet.
