It only took me about 35 years to realize that Patti Smith covered this in the 70s on her album "Easter". This is a really good original from a movie I knew nothing about either. I was a big fan of hers for years & never read about this influence on her music. She certainly punked it up a lot more, but it's always interesting to hear who she was inspired by, etc. Thanks for the upload.

OMG yes i heard a bit of this in The Gentlemen BUT once I started to hear it all I recognised it as done by Patti Smith back in '78!!! wow always thought she'd written it. I guess back then I really took no notice of who wrote the songs :) PLUS I love Paul Jones and was lucky to meet him when he toured Australia many years ago
