There are BM bands which sought to go beyond the borders set out by earlier Black Metal bands, of which Emperor is one. For me personally, i think Emperor just barely hangs in the balance between being high level Black Metal and a more progressive form of Black Metal.

Sadly they are not. Ihsahn has his solo project going (Ihsahn. Check it out, it's really good). And the bass player and Samoth are in Zyklon together, a death metal band. Last I heard they were on hiatis though.

This song is perhaps one of my favorite by Emperor, and, they're such incredible performers! -- one of the few bands I think are better live than they are on the album. But my one criticism is the keyboardist having paroxysms in the background. Seriously, calm the fuck down dude... he's ruining the entire performance by drawing attention away from the seriousness of the music with his ridiculously contrived headbanging and bizarre facial expressions.
