Westwood was once completely their own entity (notably during the days of Red Alert 1), and then they eventually merged with EA. Westwood still was their own entity during Emperor's hayday, yet shared profits and what not with EA. Now, EA has completely overtaken Westwood and good old Westwood studios is no more. So yes, EA is now basically Westwood.

@CelicasForEver Corrino has the Sardaukar, which makes their infantry the strongest. As a consequence, their vehicles and aircraft are weaker. However, all their infantry units start off as veterans. The subhouses would be: Fremen Ixians Bene Tlielax (Tlielaxu) Smugglers Spacing Guild

@CelicasForEver Game would be a direct sequel to Emperor. The known universe has been thrown into anarchy after the defeat of the Emperor Worm. The three houses fight one another in a final great war to ascend to the throne and restore order. All conventions are abolished and, pretty much, anything goes. However, House Corrino comes into the eqution, opting to rebuild its strength and reclaim the Golden Lion Throne.

@CelicasForEver Ordos would involve re-establishing a government on Draconis IV following the demise of the Executrix council. Then, you use deception, lies, and trickery to gain allies and eliminate the other houses to control Dune. Corrino would start on Salusa Secundus as the late Emperor Frederick's son/daughter, rallying the splintered Sardaukar and uniting them under your banner. Then, you conquer the subhouses to have a force strong enough to reclaim the Throne.

@CelicasForEver I was thinking the Atreides should have Ginaz Swordmasters (i.e. Duncan Idaho-esque fighters), Minotaurus, decently-balanced infantry, and Air Superiority. Harkonnen has strong emphasis on vehicular armor and firepower, Devastators come into play, and they produce cheap "expendable" infantry. Ordos makes things relying on subterfuge and "cloak and dagger" tactics like stealth infantry and tanks (albeit armor suffers), Deviators, saboteurs.

@CelicasForEver Atreides campaign start with quelling a revolt on Caladan. Then, it would involve diplomacy with subhouses to grow stronger. Gaining allies as you conquer Arrakis and the Spice. Harkonnen campaign would start with you as a betrayed General and rightful heir, revolting against the current Baron on Giedi Prime, getting your revenge and claiming the title for yourself. Then, you use fear, extortion and force to gain allies and conquer the planet /spice.

Yeap, Suigintou is the most metal of the rozen maiden, her design screams of metal themes (a real sword as a weapon, black wings, white hair, blue fire magical attacks, can invoke dragons, black clothes and her dream world was some sort of frozen ruined city, oh, and let's not even start with her personality), in fact, they actually used some sort of heavy metal music during some of her battle scenes (Zannin na Kougeki from the Rozen Maiden OST) TL:DR Suigintou is metal badass :)

There is a way. In the file data/music there are the some music files for each race, which contain the 2 skirmish games' music tracks for each race. There's a notepad file saying which tracks to play while at skirmish mode. There's another notepad file saying which tracks to play while at campaign. So by changing what is written there u can listen to different music. I don't know what you must write to play the music, i do know that you must have the respective cd in your drive to play them

@Bos187 All I needed were Sardaukar and Fremen to beat the hell out of any threat. Kobras and Minotauri would get annihilated by Fedaykin, infantry would get cut down by Fremen snipers. Devastators would fall to Sardaukar elites, and Sardaukar troops would cut their bases down like trees.

@TheBaronVladimir I dont use Devastators for their speed. They are painfully slow. And the funny thing is that an experienced player of Ordos can take em out incredibly fast with Lazer Tanks, especially if there are Elite Lazer Tanks involved. And if there are any NIABs around, then Devastators turn useless. 1 NIAB can take out a Devastator. It can just hit n run+ it has self repair.

If so, I'm sure you have music customizations there. Just a guess though. Here's hoping someone who knows the answer eventually stumbles across this vid. >_>

@TheBaronVladimir For Spice Harvesters I use cheap Infantry to kill. I just send about 20 missle infantry to destroy em. Harvesters are even more vulnerable when taken by a Carrialls, as AA infantry destroys the plane with the harvester on it. As for running down the bases I found a new way. Make masses of Combat Tanks. I dont really use Missle Tanks as they are way too slow. I use Inkwine Catapults because of its range and effectiveness on buldings, not to mention its AoE and anti infantry

There's one sound file for the whole game only. And a notepad file, dictating which tracks to play at what time. Unfortunantly, i can't mess with that file :) maybe some1 else can

@MainHeretic If you want the "Westwood" team to do it, then you want Petroglyph, not EA. Most, if not all of the former Westwood employees who were bought out by EA are now in Petroyglyph. Petroglyph is basically the new Westwood Studios. As for if that's possible, I'm not sure. I know EA owns the C&C Franchise now. I wouldn't be surprised if they own Dune as well. It'd be great if Petroglyph got them back.

No during Emperors haydays Westwood was basically just a puppet on stick. Just take a look at the opening sequence and main menu of the game. You'll see EA logo everywhere with Westwood Studios given only a small amount of space in the lower right corner. They also weren't given such a freedom in development like they had in Tiberian Sun. EA basically told them what to do and then took all the credit for the work. They really aren't Westwood.. almost none of the people from WW work there anymore

@UberGadriel You didn't REALLY read what I said, right? I was only saying deviator is the best counter for devastators. It can take out a freakin' ARMY of those on it's own. But for everything else I also prefer lasertanks and apcs. Kobra's... I'd love to, but I usually have already won by the time they reach the enemy base..

@TheBaronVladimir I dont know about that. I find House Harkonnen be more of the "sky lords" than House Atreides. I mean think about it. They got stronger airforce, not to mention AA infantry (House Atreides doesnt have AA infantry), and they are the only ones with Air Defence Platforms. I pretty much always use ADP in massive numbers. Thats the only way I actually win a game with Harkonnen.

Funny shit, I am playing the Ordos missions. Haven`t tried online I guess there is no1 around. Is there a way to mess around in the Westwood files so that in skirmish games all music is played instead of only the 2 standard tracks?

@Bos187 No belive me deviator is completly out of question here. Sure it has a stronger shield than Lazer Tanks, but its rate of fire and movement speed make it easy to kill him. Not to mention how IT CAN MISS ITS TARGET. I have tried that but it just doesnt work for me. With Ordos I use 3 things to win, Lazer Tanks, Kobra Units, and Elite APCs.

@UberGadriel Attacking a harvester with infantry is a fail. All the player needs to do is run over the infantry with it...Besides, that's the point of harvester to have heavy armor in the first place..Most of the times good players will drop them to your army positions as a decoy for your units to shoot at while rushing their main force at them making it an easy win. Masses of combat tanks is a fail too, AT infantry are cheaper and more effective than the tanks.

@MainHeretic deffinatley but i dont have that much faith in EA. ever since westwood was baught out EA has had a record for producing shit games. thats just my opinion but if they start new like blizzard did with starcraft2 then there might be some hope. more intense 3D interaction. and possibly an interactive game like starcraft 2 but way better and im totally with u on the house corrino thing. the imperial houses r bad ass.
