Gallienus is one of my favorite emperors: a brave but tragic man who was unfairly reviled by his immediate successors and by Roman historians, but who is now getting a proper reassessment centuries later. He was a competent military man and an innovator in that field, a patron of the arts and philosophy, and someone who never abandoned his duties to the Empire, despite being dealt the absolute worst hand by fate of any emperor until the 5th century and having his father taken prisoner by the Persians and two of his sons murdered by usurpers. He ruled for 15 years, an eternity during the chaos of the era of the Barracks Emperors.

By this point I could say Gallienus is my favourite emperor, also I don’t know if it’s me but his busts always presented a personality that no other Roman portrait ever has for me.

They need to do a tragic series on him. He had such an eventful and tragic life. All of his family members killed..... And yet he presses forward trying to re unite the Roman Empire. The last Roman emperor who came from Italy

Wonderful how you brought them to life .It make them look like the people they were and would make history much more interesting seeing the photos rather than just the Statues.Because we associate faces with events ..Brilliant work 🥰
