In case of cyberverse I agree this is ok/good show. But as for the seasons.. Sezon 1, yea bumbelbee is annoying, but it is also the most consistent sezon, with good sezon finaly. Sezon 2, it mostly just introduces characters, but it doesn't get that much interesting unthill they started going back to cybertron. Sezon 3, yea, definitly the best sezon. And as much as I liked the new characters like Wildwheel or Meteorfire. The last view episodes where they introduce them seem a bit rushed. Especially the ending.

Another criticism I have for the show is that the voice performances are VERY flat, even for the likeable characters. As someone who has worked with voice actors before, it is very hard for me to watch the show without cringing at how BAD the voice direction is. Edit: To clarify, many of the voices are high quality actors, and have great tone and clarity. However, it is the voice director who failed to capitalize on their great voices, ending up with the majority of the performances sounding mediocre.

I absolutely agree, and there is notably the same issue in the latest Netflix TF series as well. I can't help but wonder if Hasbro has some kind of specific voice performance related guidelines or restrictions etc. for directors/actors? And whilst their mouth movements might all be roughly the same, every character had unique designs for their eyes. You summarized this up perfectly. I remember feeling pretty mixed on season 1. Bumble bee while annoying at times I found to be cute like that puppy that just keeps bumping stuff. As for Windblade I found her to be acceptable though like you said she felt a bit too good. If your charecter is a good fighter have them have mental challenges (arcee and breakdowns anger issues) which actually came to bite them back and cost the latter his life. Or if they have perfect morals have them hesitate in crucial moments (think megaman x in the day of sigma ova) it didn't help that most of the shows fights were mostly below average with none of the blows feeling that they provide impact and everytime we see a fight it feels like the characters don't even know how to and the cannon fodder characters (seekers and unamed models ) just ran in and got taken out in one hit. Vechions at least had a few shinning moments to make them feel formidable. In prime we actually had good fight choreography with characters always jumping around and showing feats of agilty and strength. Season 2 being a huge step up form me in terms of humor and characters grimlock, soundwave, shockwave, arcee and wheeljack to name a few. The thing I didn't like though was that humans felt a bit underused. If the war is going to take place on earth give them a role to play. In prime I grew to care for Raf, Jack and Miko, which in turn lead me to care about the humans and not want to see them harmed. In cyberverse I would feel indifferent if shockwaves planet smasher destroyed earth since they gave us Noone to care for on earth. If they will not have humans take a role on the show then don't go to earth at all. (One of the reasons I liked season 3 alot more ) Season 3 being the best of the bunch since I actually felt stakes and it was nice seeing just a ragtag groups of both bots and cons work together for something greater and the idw refrencences were a nice touch as well it was nice seeing how characters like percepter work with dead end and clobber.
@heckinsnek87243 жыл бұрын
I agree to disagree with your points, mainly them being on earth...while it's one thing that they were on earth, there's only so much they can do with humans especially since almost all Transformers Shows (except Beast Wars, War for Cybertron or possibly Prime wars but I haven't seen that yet) have included them. *Yes* Earth maybe should have played a role, however...we've seen *so many* times in both shows, movies, & comics where armies got involved or some human companions came in, only very few shows like Prime or Animated have made them useful & that's something that's always bothered me with humans being involved with their Cybertronians. Maybe offscreen they did during the stream segments, though in a lot of Cyberverse they were in places humans rarely were it seemed. I feel like if Transformers were to have humans in a show again, I want to see it with the cons just to change the flow from it not being just the Autobots since we've only seen hints of it in G1 & Animated (Not sure if I can count Armada with Starscream & Alexis). The human *doesn't have* to be evil...but maybe a moral conflict or exploring Megatron's perspective of the war would be interesting. But that's just my opinion to be taken with a grain of salt. ^^

@HeckinSnek Beast Wars had proto-humans.
@Soundwave4132 жыл бұрын
@@heckinsnek8724 while I see your point I feel like beast wars is an exception as the earth is so primitive their is no reason for humans to take part, and in the early seasons we were lead to belive the maximals and predicons were on some random planet, there is also the fact that both factions ships were crippled meaning they were stuck on earth. In cyberverse the autobots were stuck in a volcano and the nemesis was fully operational and could have flown in and carpet bomb the volcano when ever they felt like it. I just feel that if their going to be on earth then human interaction should be built up and if they don't, then it feels like earth is just another battle field with nothing special . It would have been better in my opinion if they took fighting to other planets like velocotron, junkion, or kaminous and show other worlds with unique environments.

Season 3 is amazing especially in the way they incorporated elements from Lost Light. By substituting the Quintessons instead of Getaway and the Omega Guardians as villains, they made the story much less complicated than it's in the comics. The first two seasons kept me watching because of the self-aware humor and both Waves being highly entertaining.

The only time I really enjoyed the show was when they had the quintesson invasion arc, along with them finding Windblade's mind fragments. The animation is pretty cool, but the voice acting hurts me sometimes. I remember laughing historically when HotRod got stabbed by DeadLock (Drift) because his first reaction to it was "Oh.." xd

The biggest issue I had with Cyberverse was the massive leaps in cannon it took from the end of each season to the next. I think another problem, at least for me personally, is that the episodes are way too short. From what I remember, each episode is only, like 10 minutes long, and it barely gives me any time to get properly attached to any characters that are supposed to show up for only one episode. For example, when we were introduced to Blurr I believe it was and the cosmic rust ended up killing him and his planet, I didn't really feel all that sad for both Blurr and Bumblebee due to said episode being way too quick with its pacing and how abruptly it ended. It could barely even process how the rust came to the world to begin with when the episode was over.

Season 3 has to be my fav. I do love some episode from Season 1 and 2 but the third season is the close of what we have of Lost Light cartoon series. I say Lost Light and not the G1 movie due to the characters, how the story progress, the humor (Mcaddam is like someone fuse Swerve with Rung just to prevent over-crowded) i really wish that Hot Rod earn his title as a Prime. I dont care if he still keep the dark red paint even when he earn it, he prove to be a good leader and able to unite the Autobot and the Decepticon while Optimus Prime did try more then 4000 time with Megatron but still fail, Hot Rod prove to them how working together able to take down both Quintesson and Starscream in short time while it take more then the half of season 2 just to take down Starscream alone. Sometime, i hate when people say that Hot Rod didnt deserve the title of a Prime even after all that he did. It like Season 3 finale of My Little Pony all over again

Season one wasnt the best, but i loved the flashback scenes on cybertron before the war and then showing how the war really destroyed it. I also agree on season 1 windblade being too good everything as well as Starscream and (especially) Thundercracker looking pathetic because of that. At least in that continuity seekers do get look down on. I really like some of the risks that show took despite its seemingly kid friendly nature with Shadow Strikers destruction and reconstruction, starscreams death, the seekers sparks being removed against their will by one of their own kind.

I think Many things from Season 1 were lost on next Seasons or had bad execution Endings like: - Windblade X Bumblebee friendship: They were the main characters, but after Season 2,they barely talked with each other and they were supposed to be Best friends, you could say Hotrod was bee's Best friend and Chromia wind's Best friends, their friendship was so natural and good to watch. Slipstream X Wind/Bee X Shadow rivalry: Both had a pretty mediocre ending, both were personal and The first One had Such raw ending, with Slip dying and Wind trusting her life to avenger her when they basically wanted to kill each other, we needed more of them become enemies to friends. The second One was pretty personal and Bee saved Shadow's life, but Shadow ignored that, she should've been more conflicted about her hatred about Bee, this Just happened in the Last episodes. And Many good characters that barely were secondary characters like, Arcee, that if you exclude from show, nothing big would change, and i always see Arcee as the main fembot.

Having seen a few episodes here and there, I think the main issue with the lack of character development is the fact that it’s an 11 minute block as opposed to a 22 minute block. Episodes are too short and there’s only so much you can do in that time.

I LOVE Cyberverse, it's what really got me into Transformers, but I agree that it has problems. I'd say the lack of lore is down to the length of the episodes (not that it's much of a problem for me because I also love speculative fanfiction haha) so hopefully the movies will fix some of that. It's such a shame it takes until season 3 to get really good but I still find the first two seasons enjoyable... except for the unspace episode. I HATE that one lmao. And don't even get me started on the writing decisions in the Battle For Cybertron arc! The only one of your crits I disagree with about Windblade, like I don't think she or the seekers are written well at first but I wouldn't call her a sue. That being said I haven't seen her in any other media so I haven't had a chance to get tired of her characterisation. Great video as always, I'd love to hear your thoughts on MTMTE vs Lost Light!

Honestly, fantastic show, with incredible world-building, and characters, but the random story skips and massive plot holes between specific episodes are a little weird, other than that great! Edit time: season 4 was a lot more cheesy and felt rushed, I know it's a kid's show, but still, it didn't live up to the quality of the previous seasons. On top of that, it was 2, 40-minute episodes instead of 20, 11-minute episodes so we got less content in general.
@Schonalles Жыл бұрын
If anything there's one more flaw with Cyberverse that I'd like to point out. The plot structure is decent, with a clear climax and resolution, but to me the show keeps fully resolving before jumping to the next plot point. Consequently, I couldn't really make it past the resolution of the Quintesson invasion in season 3 because, to me, the series should've already ended. There wasn't really good segways into each separate plotline so it felt like three shows just awkwardly stitched together in my opinion. What should've been done was leaving the plotlines partially unresolved, to keep the viewer's attention as the next plotline is shuffled in. But, that's just my opinion.

At first I was nervous, since RID 2015 was also a kids show and it sucked, but even in the first season it surprised me. Yes, the characterization was very shallow, many characters were mary sues or just bland compared to others, and they never really seem to act like they’re at war(other than optimus & megatron) However, Cyberverse did much better than probably everyone expected. It introduced both new characters and old characters that needed more time in the spotlight. I love that they gave bludgeon & tarn their moments in the spotlight. Never thought that would ever happen. Pretty much all the new characters were awesome, especially clobber. But what I love most about it is the boldness: they decided to introduced the multiverse(a bit shallow, but still!), they mostly focused on either new or obscure characters, and even did very well done plot twist. These include wildwheel’s backstory, drift’s allegiance, and the whole quintesson arc.

I agree! I think this was a perfect way to do it. I recall Transformers Armada was going to have a sequel as a multiverse but it was cancelled I think due to the budget they needed (& getting the license to use the characters I believe since it would've included G1 & Beast Wars) & limitations of creativity since it was going to "delete the other universes" so that only Armada's existed which I can understand since people wouldn't have liked that. I think Cyberverse handled this much better than that would've.

Wait, Cyberverse is going to release two movies??? OMG I AM HYPED!!! Also 6:33 I love the in-show chat, especially the one saying "Who's storescream?" XD So realistic! That's one of my favorite things from Cyberverse, humans simping over Starscream in the show itself XD When I saw that one of the season 2 episodes was called "Starscream's Children", I got overly excited and curious and had no idea what was gonna happen. I definitely did not expect the Scraplets, and that was perhaps the one thing I didn't think of, and I got a bit disappointed... XD One of the writers of Cyberverse is actually a fan fiction writer and in, I think, a Q&A section about the show, she encourages people to write fan fiction as it helps you develop story writing and development. I just feel like that the fact one of the writers of the show is a fan fiction writer might explain the Starscream-simping lol Also, Windblade too OP. Good thing she was MIA in season 3. A fan fic writer named espioc on Archive Of Our Own wrote a fic in the IDW universe called "Where You Rest Your Head", where Windblade is being a sheer jerk and wanting her parole program to be perfect and flawless, but because Starscream (a parole) and a few others are not doing well in the program, she tries to sweep the flaws under a rug, and she's generally being aggravating because she also implements laws against Cold Constructed bots without knowing what it all means. I think it's a really good story and makes a good job of turning the Mary Sue-Windblade into not-so Mary Sue because you're gonna end up hating her. Also Starscream and Wheeljack becomes friends, which I really like about IDW that those two become friends. And yeah, I do also hate how dirty the Seekers have been done in Cyberverse. I did think it seemed odd that they, even Starscream, all went down so easily. I do love Starscream's Sonic Scream ability tho, that was cool. And also the missiles in his chest XD I also hate that they included Skywarp in season 3 but didn't give her any lines. :/ I love that they made Skywarp a female here though. I love Cyberverse, but I agree that they could have done so much more with it, added so much more. I feel like if the episodes had been 22 minutes long like normal shows, they would have had more room for character development and lore. Like, giving Starscream a redemption arc, having the city of Vos appear on TV, or at least show us what it looks like! Showing more Cybertronian cities and what cultures the various cities have. Explain what purpose metal plants have in their eco-system. I do like that the show ends with peace between the Autobots and Decepticons, practically no other shows have that. They either have the Autobots win and the Decepticons locked behind bars or convert to Autobots, or the society is mainly Autobot and only a few Decepticons are allowed to roam without being Autobots, but eventually being forced to turn into Autobots "out of guilt and to fit in", like with Laserbeak in Rescue Bots Academy. Here, though, they start by having half the planet ruled by Autobots, and the other half ruled by Decepticons. Then at the end, they accept each other and mingle like they used to before the war. No majority having more rights than the other. Both seem to be equal in their new society. Cyberverse actually managed to work things out between the two sides. I think they started the war simply due to different ideologies/methods of attaining equality/peace. I... don't really remember, actually. I might have to watch the show again. Probably also the longest war in any of the continuities, as it lasted over...what, 69 million years or something? Around that. I love Cyberverse, but it does need some fan fiction attention. I am looking forward to the two movies though! :D

The only good part of season 1 was seeing flashback of Cybertron pre War era as it was an interesting insight to see on screen. No other past Transformers has showns that! Season 2 was kinda interesting in that it was kinda like G1 except removing any human interactions. Season 3 is where it really got to shine and the Quintession arc is probably my favourite arc as it make the situation very dire (at the start only being Hot Rod, Perceptor and Clobber being the only Transformers left to stop them) and dark!

Me personally I like how this Starscream has no redeeming qualities even from the beginning he was always a jerk and once the war started he got to do almost anything he wanted to, and he ruined it be either plotting against Megatron, or messing up. Eventually this leads to Megatron beating Starscream to death. And then Starscream comes back as a genocidal maniac who believes that in order to stop the war he needs to kill everyone involved, however later it's revealed that Starscream actually only wanted to destroy his enemies and become a God. This eventually leads to Starscream joining with the quintessons and he tries to destroy the entire universe making him easily the most evil character in the entire series so far and the most evil incarnation of Starscream so far.

12:22 That's exactly my point. I've been watching the whole show with my nephew. We both enjoy it, and personally I think it's one of the coolest shows for "kids" I've even seen, wish it was part of my childhood. But I completely agree on this one and so I kept complaining about it! Autobots and Decepticons kept reuniting like 2 different soccer teams. We could barely feel the impact from the war, it was simply too slow, too strange. Everything felt out of place and that was such a low point because how can you mess up so badly with the basic of the whole show?! I mean, Transformers, in constant war? That's so typical and fundamental for any show but here it's none of that. That frustrated me
