All the extra lights on my scania is on a separate system , so it doesn't interfere with the original wiring harness.

That’s the way to do it! This Volvo was our first experience with it but we’ve seen it a lot since then. If the truck is less than about ten years old, we know when we start that we’re probably going to have to run a new switch.

But be careful adding extra lights on these Volvo's . Because if you do add extra lights to it. Depending on how many more you've added. You have to reprogram the computer that operates the initial lighting system . Well i know that's the case with scania trucks. Sure it's the same with Volvo's. Be sure to double check for future reference.

Yes, definitely. This video is from several years ago so we have very little trouble with them now.

This particular project took us all day - probably 8 to 12 hours. But a lot of that time was spent trying to figure out why the lights wouldn't work properly - now that we know how to do it, we could probably cut that time in half on a similar project. The cost was in the $800 to $1200 range for parts and labor.

@MrHighwaybandit You can add them, you just can't tie them into the existing harness. They have to be wired in separately or it throws the computer system off.

that's a bit bizarre that the blinked when wired into the marker lights. i wired my lights on my 2011 670 into the side marker lights and they worked just fine. no blinking or anything. maybe he had something weird going on in his lcm.

We cut the holes in that bumper custom. It’s been a long time, but I don’t think we sold him the bumper. They carry some that are similar at our San Antonio location!

Kenworth and peterbilts hold their value they are simply gorgeous trucks BUT!!! Volvos ride quality is far superior better than any peterbilt or kenworth.
