It's an excellent song and sounded great live. Kudos to the band for the whole package -- costumes, set design, choreography -- and to the BBC for the sound mixing and camerawork. There isn't anything on US television that can hold a candle to Jools' show.

Just discovered this band recently, and boy am I pissed! When it comes to Dance/Pop/Rock, this is as close to perfect as it gets for me. This is my favorite tv performance of them that I’ve seen. I believe the original recording is in a higher key, but I much prefer this version.

Who needs these armchair DJs doing crappy remixes when Luke Steele elevates the song to a whole new level with his vocals and amazing guitar playing. I'm 54 and I love this band. They've put everything into the music and also the visuals. That level of attention to give the fans what they love is what puts Empire Of The Sun right at the top.

As a newcomer to this party I’m still figuring out what’s going on, but yeah, I agree that Luke is a very good guitarist. At first I wondered with all the costumes why bother playing, since as a front man it tends to inhibit movement onstage (Tobias Forge of Ghost gave up playing once it became apparent that he had to sing lead). My guess is Luke likes playing, thinks he’s good at it, and since he doesn’t play on every single song, it works for him.

I've been refraining from commenting on this track for some time now so as not to cause any offence to Luke or Nick. However having listened to this track over and over I have to say this live version on Jools's show is much better than the CD version. The drumming is really strong and brilliant and the guitar solo ending is absolutely staggering. The song really comes across much better, so well done to Empire of the Sun and to the sound crew at the BBC! The dancer's routine to the track is really great! what a spectacle!! This band are producing top quality modern music in these times and I'm convinced that it will stand the test of time and become classic, songs like We are the People and Alive are classic anthemic hits. Keep them coming lads, great music!!!
