Hi there, thanks for the comments, for chunky yarns the Brother KH-230 is a great machine for Aran yarns. The Aran yarn works on a 5mm hand needle, so have a look at yarns first to see if they are available in your area. Knitting machines like a smooth even yarn, does not matter if the yarn is firm or soft, as long as it’s smooth and even. There are other machines that can do a great job, but I really like the basic machines, less parts and I even if it takes longer to do more difficult work, the quality is good.

I dont have punchcard machine. Can I do it with LK150 or brother 930? Could you please show us or post a link to the pattern stitch? I am new to MKnit. Thanks so much.

Hi there, unfortunately you cannot do this lace method on the LK150 or the Brother 930. I’m not sure about the 930, but I think it comes with a separate lace carriage. Basically the knitmaster/Studio 321 has a weaving application for its lace effect. What that means is the thin yarn is the knit and the second yarn is the surface effect. I think the knitmaster 323 does the same method.

Whitch type of yarn do you use?!

A variety of Yarns, this is done with a brand called Yeoman, and the second thread is domestic sewing machine thread with a polyester blend. Polyester seems stronger than other thread.

It’s an old video, I would switch the sound off and watch the captions. I’m doing another video on the lace projects on a knitmaster 323 in the future. I’m still repairing it, and will do a video as soon as I’m finished with the chunky knitters lol 😀
