As someone with a USDA License, he is absolutely correct. When they come for inspections they are not going to educate you as they go. They provide you with exactly how each animal should be fed. They write it up with instructions or site the code of how it’s done and you are fined. What he is saying about their diets is spot on! Diarrhea can cause dehydration and other problems in the animal.

Plus too much fruit can cause diabetes! Porcupines are like Guinea pigs or rabbits,the need fresh greens and roughage. We only gave our rabbits fruit occasionally,as a treat.

He was legit on top of his game with the animals and taking care of them. Was he eccentric and wild? Yes but that’s a human thing. But animal business he handled. My mom use to work at a place called Grassmere wildlife park and I went everyday after school when 10 and for bout 3 years, and I helped with most animals from wolves to cougars to many other animals and Joe is correct indeed. Eventually they sold the park and she was moved to Cumberland science museum and I went there after school everyday for bout 4 years. I’ve had quite an educational childhood. And was at the time when kids kid get hands on and learn without all these regulations and petty rules.

I don't talk about it to most people not from where I live because they think I'm full of sh!t but my dad was a big cat collector. We had 52 big cats from tigers to cougars. Only cat he wouldn't let me go in with was the single jaguar we had. The rest of them acted more like big dogs since we had raised them from bottle feeding kittens. Anyway, the last two tigers he had, he had went to Oklahoma and bought them from Joe way before all this came out. I never met him but dad said he was a ok guy 😂. Dad passed away 17 months ago so can't pick his brain about it now.
