I dont play anymore but back then when i was feeling the burn out it felt like the game is super lonely. My friends dont come online anymore and meeting new friends feels difficult. It doesnt feel the same anymore. People dont sit down to chat anymore. Everyone's going somewhere. People dont stop by to help with doors, they just use glitches to speed run their day. I haven't had a giant group of people cr'ing together for a very long time. The scenery is still incredibly breathtaking, but theres no one to enjoy it with. The game feels stagnant, like im coming online just to decay in silence. I dont need anymore of it than i already had irl

Yeah it makes me nostalgic and sad at the same time. Like I didn’t have a contact with my friends, we were mostly casual and having teenager type talks about video games and school, but It still felt like we were good friends. I just kinda want to know if they still remember me and if they are okay now. If I ever play with people again I want it to be with people who feel the same way as I do about the game, I kinda try to communicate these feelings in game but it didn’t seem to connect with people. The story or new stories are just expanded by the Newly added seasons. I know Sky is supposed to be a patient game, but DAMN do them stories take long to come by. After then, there's nothing left to do but repeat candle runs.

That's mostly because Sky was originally planned to be a full complete game for console and pc, like Journey its predecessor. But during the development they decided to switch to mobile devices because at that time mobile games were becoming lot popular, getting lot different players and could easily get monetize, like today games are basically all gacha systems and iaps. So Sky original storyline (and lot other stuff) end up cut, scrapped and reworked made up for a more loop gameplay.

@@calocitta_bird it's useful for all players, you can't force the community to socialize either but they've already tried more than once to take away the grandma utilities, the shared space are used for players who can't stay on the game and are busy, i know it's infuriating but it has it's many uses, also mind you there are rude people too in game that I've had the possibility of encountering, most of them trying to light me expect I'd refuse and they'd get mad and try to light me anyways when I'd get the wax to light up, it is annoying and thanks to the shared spaces you avoid those kind of people, you can play music during said events, you aren't disturbed ect.

I've decided that Moomin season is my last. I kind of have enough candles/hearts to finish the constellations, which has been my goal in the game for a long time. Sky hasn't brought me the same feelings and it has become like a job. Never donated (no opportunity) and I feel inferior against the background of those who can afford it and walk around in incredibly beautiful clothes. For a long time, I was inspired by Aurora's last concert, where everyone gathered for the record - it was wonderful and magical I guess i'm not so alone in these feelings, time to move on

This is relatable. Since I saved a lot of candles over the years, I only do my daily tasks and the do the cr for the map that have the daily tasks. However, it’s difficult for me to delete the game due to two reasons. One, some of my friends are in that game and I don’t wanna lose contact even if I almost never see them in-game. Two, If I delete the game then the candles that I have saved up all these years would go to waste and I don’t like that.

As a veteran of sky who has played 4 yrs of this somehow, the candle running system needs a change to keep players invested. Running everyday for ten candles which is two realms, takes like 30 minutes with some current speedrun strats. It's so incredibly time taking and draining to do one and I don't need another thing that I have to treat like homework. It's not a rewarding system because even after all of that, all of my candles will be gone the moment there's a traveling spirit, and there's not much flexibility in what I'm able to use my candles for even if I do run daily for 30 minutes. Like two weeks is 140 candles, ten candles per day, and that's down the drain for any TS. Can't even work on constellation progress. So it's a game with a huge lack of reward when everything costs so many candles or when I'm barely earning any candles at all. There's so much more things I can or need to buy with candles if I want that has increased over the past 4 years of playing this game, but the amount you earn from candle running hasn't increased much (Ik they did that one update for veterans where you get more wax at the beginning than at the end but the change isn't making much of a difference). I feel as if this system where if new players want to pay for TS, it becomes quite unfriendly. New players shouldn't be playing for hours everyday (if they don't just outright look up how to speed run a realm) so they can work on the basic progression line (constellations) of items and not be able to afford TS, bc even 30 minutes of ten candle speedruns daily isn't enough to be able to afford both.

i quit playing sky last month as a paid player and it's been nothing but heaven. For 20 Euros, which usually buys 1 event iap and a season pass, I've managed to score 5 whole games on Steam that were on sale. Webfishing has been endlessly more enjoyable to play with friends and then there's also Amber Isle and the Portal games that i've really been enjoying! Even after years and years of complaints, I always remained loyal to Sky... Which I now know was fomo... but right now? Right now Sky isn't even an option for me anymore in my daily life. The games I value all have what I want and what I can reasonably work towards at my own pace. It's the best choice I've ever made and I hope everyone reading this can find the same rest in other games too

I was already burning out, then played two days of the Halloween event, the first Moomin quest and... just stopped playing. I feel bad, but everything is too much of a chore. Nah, yk what I am doing? I am not bothering about TS anymore. I wanted the moomin pass as I loved (and still love) the storyline of the ongoing moomin season, but I tried all my luck and couldn't get the pass. So, I am now even doing dailies at my own pace. Not bothering about missing seasonal candles everyday is a blessing, really. Sometimes, one thing can have both advantages, and disadvantages. I have spent all total $20 in game in my more than 1 year of playing sky (ignoring the bunny accessory, which I think most sky players have it as their first IAP). Do I regret spending them? Hmmmm yeah a bit. Because that value of money is precious for me. But.... at the same time, the happiness I had gotten at that time was unforgettable. My first SP and my first expensive IAP (Yeah I regret buying the cat prop of mischief, but when I get them to a group of people, I immediately start enjoying it 😂). I made a lot of kind friends too, who always supported and loved me (still do btw). Sky is something using which I escape the real world miseries, and I intend to keep the game that way. ❤

Honestly, sky has just gotten boring. Whenever I'm online is the loneliest I feel-- ESPECIALLY for a game that is meant to revolve around socialization. I mean, why even log on at that point? Candle running is the first thing I do after sending light and love to my smol friend constellation 💚 I don't fondly wait for that point when I've done all the stories and spirits 🙊 I might get bored and... Start socializing and making new friends in Sky! I started to play, because my son started to play, because my mom and few of my siblings are playing 😂 Gotta learn all the cool ways to get the easiest candles as quick as possible. Beautyful video. For me Sky is a perfect way to relax after work. No difficult riddles to solve, no super hard bosses to defeat. Just a nice game to forget the real life problems for a while.
