The Don't-know mind is he deluded mind like Shunyru Suzuki's beginner's mind. Such a mind is always closed. But Bodhidharma did not travel to China to teach the deluded beginner's mind. He went to China to teach the absolute Mind that is called dharma-nature which is also called liberation. Neither life nor death can restrain the absolute Mind unlike with the deluded or "Don't-know mind." By Red Pine's translation, The Zen Teaching of Bodhidharma.
