and we have as a bonus a tutorial photoshop, thank you for all these very useful tips, it will be useful when I managed to master all the tutorials present on your channel, a big thank you again for all this. just one small thing, I’m an old man who doesn’t fully master English so when a video doesn’t have a translation available, I miss little tips or advice but it’s not important, you express yourself clearly enough for me to understand ;)

Outstanding video. I know Spanj, XCaliber, TeeWRX82, and other builders usually incorporate a lot of this information into their building videos but, unfortunately, they tend to run hours long. That makes it extremely difficult to wade through and get what you need. This provides a concise and detailed video enabling the community to improve itself on the workshop. Bravo 👏

Indeed, I have seen some very well done creations, worth keeping across multiple games and customizing, which have no subs besides me and a handful of others, because the only, microscopic screenshot has no actual data.

If you can't find your screenshot folder you can find it on the Empyrion page in your steam library. scroll down it will be on the right side (I believe you need to have a at least 1 screenshot for it to be visible) click on "manage screenshots" and in the new window on the bottom left click the "show on disk" button.

An addendum: for the screen that shows the build time: I think it's good practice to scroll down to show the more rare materials required (bridges/matrices, etc.) Also, any tips for hitting the spotlight? I'm not certain what metrics steam looks at for spotlight. Is it purely subs? Favorites? Seems like this could be affected by what day you publish on. If they use a "rising" type metric, then you wouldn't want to post to early in the week, but if it's a cumulative thing, you would want to publish at 12:01am sunday night. I dunno, I've been thinking way too much about it. haha

Hitting spotlight is based wholly on # of unique steam visitors, and the 5 Star rating system is based wholly on how many thumbs up you get, the more thumbs the more stars, it is not a measure of quality or rating ratios, it's a system that rewards traffic. B/c advertising $'s. If you want to make front page, Provide a good thumbnail, provide the important statistics of the ship, make a basic video if possible showcasing your ship, and then continue making ships, as you accumulate followers each new ship will garner more views which gets it closer to the front page earlier, where it's more likely to be seen, boosting it further up. CVs garner way more views than SVs, I built an exceptional non quantum SV for 1.8 and it never made the front page and only has 100 odd subscribers to this day, if it doesn't make the front page in week 1 it will never get traction or subs. More people search for CVs than SVs so it's significantly harder to get an SV to the front page. You should post every one of your newly released blueprints to all 4 of these places to create initial momentum for unique visitors, Spanj's discord, HWS Discord, Empyrion Discord, & Emyprion Steam Forum.

You don't need to turn off the hud for the actual BP picture - it removes automatically in the pic - but you do have to hide hud for the regular screenshots.

I lost 5 hours of working on a Capital ship today when the game crashed. It doesn't save anything. Blueprint saving is lousy because it doesn't let you save over an existing blueprint. You have to change the name every time. Sucks.
