Hi, Coach! I am feeling that my 'Real' table tennis training has started with your videos and coaching. Now, I am very much confused that - 1. How much Physical Exercises should be done regularly? Which exercises should I do? 2. How much Shadow Practice should I do, regularly? 3. How much time should I give to service practice and receiving everyday? My age is 32. I am alone in my club, no such coach, no player of my level. Actually, there are 15 players taking training under me. But, I don't wish to be only a coach, as my natural feeling always tells me to push hard as a player, too. I wish to learn as much as I can, for me and for my players. Within this 15 days, I have learned a lot from your videos and narrated to my players, too. I am very much thankful, if you cover these areas in your next videos... Again, accept my one thousand salutes, Sir!

Anything but equipment. Equipment really does not matter. I like all other 3 topics equally. However, you do differentiate with other channels by providing more insight into the Chinese way of thinking about these things. Like in this video, you showed coach Liu's thoughts on grip and even showed the video of the coach showing the top players' grips. That makes the real difference! Thank you.

I'm pretty interested in this because firstly, I can't really see much difference between Ma Lin and Wang Hao, and secondly, I don't really see why having a deep thumb makes it worse for RPB. It certainly gives more room for error having the bh fingers more compact than a Jpen grip, because you don't want to hit your fingers. but the more I play, the more deeper I want my thumb for both FH and RPB strokes. It simply adds more stability and control. Perhaps there is a limitation with a Cpen blade that a Jpen doesn't have, so i don't have to worry, but I don't really know...and don't really have anyone to talk to about it. The Cpen coach at my club is super legit, but doesn't play RPB. he's always said my grip is fine. I suspect I may need to bring the BH fingers more to the middle for extra power as I get better and the SH competition is more powerful, but idk.

You haven't done so much on tactics, so this one. Many table tennis players read too much into marketing campaigns and they are always on the lookout for new blades/rubbers, so I understand equipment will get you more views but technique and tactics are most important to a player to progress quickly if that player already has decent equipment (which you have already covered).

Hi EmRatThich, great video ! I am a huge fan of the content you are making available to us :) As a French table tennis player, I can see that some coaches are transitionning to some of the Chinese techniques, particularly using legs, hips and torso instead of arm to generate spin, so I guess we are on the right track. I would like you to focus on TOPIC 3 as mental aspects seem the most important to me, once you entered a match. Keep up the amazing work !

I'd say topic 2 but wondering if it's possible to switch topics every month. Also I followed your advice and switched my bat from Timo Bill ALC to all wood DHS and I like the change and feeling. I have a 2 year old sonic Acuda S2 on both sides. Do I need to change the rubbers? And for a middling rubber are the donic line good enough to use (blue fire, Acuda,/m1,m2,s1,S2) or do you recommend something different. something for the price conscious player with the rubber lasting a while.

Hi, Merry Christmas.... I need your advice, since I'm very hard to play with players who use the pimp out or anti power rubbers, like Dr Neubauer rubber and other anti power rubbers or pimp out rubber without sponge (especially player used 2 different rubber, fast rubber and anti power rubber) The opponent with these rubbers will return the ball slow, even very slow, and exactly slower than normal. So, I always move earlier and hit the ball before the ball to be in the best point to be hit. I'm very difficult to retain my hand (bat) just little bit second. and my ball return often hit the net or sometimes the ball goes up and smashed by opponent...Any Advice for me how to control the hand movement until having a good position and timing? Hi EmRatThich, First of all i would like to thank you for your hard work and it is free!!!Many people don't have a clue how much time and effort it takes for all the videos to be created plus key point commenting, videos and analysing. Thank you for pointing very important factors such as Grip and foot work and than looping techniques .God Bless you and Your family for the hard work and its freeee. I am father of three small children:))) Volunteering to open/close table tennis club once a week as there are no money or support to pay the stuff. I am also table tennis coach and been using a lot of tips from Table Tennis University Program from Vancouver University. I think european style is a waste of time and this is really bad for future generation. There re not enough quality coaches who can correct tecnicue and improve kids fast and make the kids enjoy playing table tennis. It would help if you can give your own version of boosting forehand chinese dhs hurricane 3 rubber and name(brand ) of the booster as well as the whole process. I am using national version factory tuned rubber dhs 3 40 degree 2.1mm blue sponge. This rubber comes with packaging and completely different from the commercial version. Rubber has different top sheet and also sponge. I am boosting this rubber with haifu black oil 2014 version. 1 layer of glue than 1 layer of booster, wait 2 days than second layer of booster, wait 2 days put 1-2 layers of glue and third layer of booster wait 2 -3 days and glue to the blade. I wait for booster to dry perfectly before gluing. During boosting process rubber curves and never goes flat. If you using Tempo Falco long term booster rubber shape can go back to almost flat but when i use Haifu black oil three layers rubber shape never comes back to flat. I f you have better idea to boost the rubber please comment . I am using Viscaria with Dhs rubber on the forehand and T05 on my back hand. I am not very happy with my back hand rubber and Rakza 7 don't have enough spin for my liking to play. I been trying Xiom Omega Tour V Europe for my back hand and this rubber is a real deal. Once again thank you for the good tips. Remember Grip is very important than footwork and i do believe smash and loop kill is what wins you points and matches. Looping is great but not as good as loop kill. Happy New Year Andrei from London

I really appreciated this video because it tells about penholders too. :D Can you recommend any equipment for chinese pendolders? Or there isn't difference with shakehand equipments? I'm a forehand dominant player and I use the reverse penhold backhand too, but I have not a very agressive play style. I was looking for a Stiga Eternity VPS V, Tibhar MX-P (forehand) and Yasaka Rakza X (backhand) in dandoy-sports. I searched a Friendship/729 in this store, but I don't know what model is better. Sorry for the poor english and merry christmas EmRatThich channel!!

I have noticed that Waldner and some very popular strong players sometimes hit the forehand and loop and forehand smash and topspin with the finger not at the base of the bat with the finger extending upto 25°to a 40° angle if you were to draw an imaginary 90° axis point from vertically down the middle of the bat and horizontally along the bottom of the bat. why do these players such as waldner do this. i know this because i have watched the matches in slow motion. would he be in trouble if after hitting on the forehand the next ball landed on the backhand side. I think they only do this when they have plenty of time or feel the rally will continue on the forehandvside. Also i myself like to place my finger at about 25° like Waldner does sometimes. However i find it difficult to change from one wing to the other because my finger also changes places along the axis. Is it possible to somehow lock my finger in this position by placing a small block of wood or something so my finger wont move and stays there and then learn how to hit a backhand like this meaning i keep the 25° grip on the forehand by locking it down somehow and then learning how to hit a backhand like this. Is this possible
@pingsunday8 жыл бұрын
+darryl kassle you are right. When you forehand smash the ball you should change the grip little to support, increase the speed of the stroke. Move the index upward to make a better support. For the bh you can also change the grip too. I will cover it in the part 3.
