I wear the 3A concealed its very comfortable but I'm getting the External carrier for it that's not the tactical variety, its the one with pockets for a radio, flashlight, tourniquet ect. I am very happy with the purchase, customer service, and that they give 10 % off, and also they do payment plans. The only negative I would give, and this is being very picky is that they don't have Large short in stock so it takes 4 to 6 weeks to get otherwise you get your gear quick

What happens when you get a SWAT call while on paramedic duty. Do you have to immediately return to your ambulance depot (or station) with the whole of your ambulance crew, get your SWAT gear and go to the scene; or you just drive your ambulance to the scene while suiting up SWAT gear inside the ambulance?
@squintskating3792 жыл бұрын
Swat typically has their own medics on stand by that deploy with them and actually accompany the entry teams. The responding squad usually stages somewhere near by but out of the hot zone
@chelsey1985 Жыл бұрын
If you are a tems medic working for swat you will be at your home hospital or agency ie fire or ambulance and when you are called to a swat call you go to the swat/sheriff's office and gear up and go with them. If you are on shift with agency it depends your company's policy for that but most often it is drop everything and go unless of course you are mid call. I am speaking for Colorado also, I'm sure everyone is different

I don't know if you have the answers but logic will dictate us that these law inforcers (cops, FBI agents, The military...etc) must wear bulletproof vest or body armors always during thier duties for their protection but they don't. My question is why is it the case? Is it too expensive? Does it have limited manufacturers or availabilities? As a doctor of the intensive care unit of the ambulance, I see some flaws in this body armor. Of course, I could be wrong, but 3 NIJ A classes, or Br 2a GOST R 50744 95, in the 2015 edition are not enough. Given the prevalence of hunting rifles shooting with high-quality cartridges of self loaded catriges, at least NIJ 3, or Br 4 or Br 5 Granite is required. And in the base case. And it is worth considering the 12-gauge cartridges for the shotgun, which are equipped with 6 mm buckshot, or a solid lead bullet for a bear or wild boar, selfloaded. Of course, you will accuse me of excessive precaution, but a knife and blunt objects are not the only threat. The second and important point is the ballistic soft packs that go directly behind the armor. Br1- Br2, NIJ class 2. This will protect against fragments, fragments of armor and a knife. And the third important point is climate ammortization support. In this vest I dont see somthing like this. It s problem of blunt force trauma and backface sign. This is often forgotten. Until they try it in their own skin. Organ ruptures and fractures, apart from such trifles as bruises and bruises, are unlikely to please anyone. I understand the desire to make the vest a low profile, to facilitate driving in a car or manipulation. Plus, an increase in the armor class will increase the weight, but a vest is needed infrequently and not 24 hours in a row. This will not harm the spine. But if there is a need, for example, duty on the threat of a terrorist attack, then you need a belt, and the StkSS system or its analogues, redistributing the weight of the vest to the belt. Again, I will answer the question about standalone boards from UHMW PE or Twaron, they are noticeably lighter, but climate amortization support is needed anyway. And he is better than one airmesh. I also think that the method of laying the armored panel on top of the vest can make it difficult to take medical measures when injured, as it will interfere with emergency respiratory support, therefore it is better to attach it from below. In general, it can be summarized that this vest represents in some ways protection from stab wounds and small-caliber weapons of the area to which it covers. Of the benefits here is the full armor cummerband. But it is better than nothing. I received a knife wound twice for my work activity, and they threatened and shot with a pistol and shotgun, it’s good that they didn’t get hit many times. This is the path of the ambulance special brigade. So, this is nothing more than a tactical accessory in need of refinement. But better than nothing. I understand that this is my point of view, but practice is practice.

I gotta say I'm shocked that EMTs, medics in none war zones need armor. Defies logic. But sadly necessary in today's world.
@julians.25975 жыл бұрын
In today's world? We live in the most peaceful time ever! And ofc they would need armor when dealing with criminals as - per definition - these people don't care about laws, and often morals.
@lemax68655 жыл бұрын
@@julians.2597 In most parts of the developped world, paramedics really do not require armor, even when dealing with criminals. Only in especially violent environments would this be truly required, or perhaps in situations involving terrorists. You'll find that most criminals are actually people; the vast majority of them do not randomly stab medical personnel for no discernable reason. Terrorists, however, tend to see ''medic'' as ''bonus points''.

Lots of bad info here…. I’m an EMT with AMR in California. Try giving a tweaker Narcan in the back of your bus and let me know if you don’t need a vest. Lots of gang shootings as well….. you go and scoop up Javier, and next thing you know Tyrone drives by and opens fire to make sure Javier is dead when your rendering aid. Homeless is out of control, lots of stab weapons on every homeless person. It’s not so much getting shot…… it’s being stabbed. Going into someone’s home who is a 5150…… these are all the things we deal with sadly. 40% of the crews wear them. The remaining crews either have them but get too hot in them, or have them but don’t wear them.

According to my brother, who was in Iraq 2 times and knew about these vests, "even 45 layers wasn't safe." He thinks people are totally deluded about their own safety, that's simply it and he won't discuss it further. I tell you: He was sent to the East and then sent back "roont." Just like it says in the Stephen King book about this topic. #IraqVeteran #theStruggleisReal
@charleschristianson27305 жыл бұрын
For the record, having been "in Iraq" does not make anyone an expert on the efficacy of any particular type of body armor. I was also in Iraq, and I would have to disagree with your brother. The type of threat that we faced in Iraq was vastly different from the threats faced by paramedics in the US. Nobody is rigging 155mm artillery shells and detonating them when the ambulance drives past. The highest threat that most EMS providers will face comes from pistols, and the vest shown in this video will ABSOLUTELY, PROVABLY, stop all common pistol rounds. Additionally, it covers most of the vital organs such as heart and lungs from most angles. Sure, it is still possible to die from a gunshot wound while wearing this vest, but the risk is greatly reduced. During my military service I knew several people who got shot in the vest and walked away from it with no serious injuries, and I'd bet that your brother knew some, too.
@VickiBee5 жыл бұрын
@@charleschristianson2730 I meant he knows more about it than I do, which isn't saying much. I was also a paramedic, but I didn't know any damn thing about body armor. I think my brother's completely cynical about almost everything to do withy Iraq, which people who actually went there probably think I'm not allowed to have an opinion at all. But I know who he was before he left and whatever happened there ruined that person forever. I'm almost to the point of believing I actually LOST that person there. I speak from the view of a sister back home, and the Army didn't give a whoopee-do about SISTERS.
