good stuff. Soundwise everything went down the hill from approx 2004 and on with the advent of the computers, Reaktor, Ableton etc. Technology served in this case to create worse music since then, kinda similar to vinyl going to CD and then to mp3.

How was house music being produced before the technology?

@@mackey8964 my comment is a little harsh towards the new stuff, there are great things being produced all the time. Before the computers the samplers, analog consoles and tape machine were kings. Samplers had good preamps to start with, and the artists would go to real studios for the final mixdown. Now often it is a one man operation with a run of the mill sound card and without any pro input. Poorly recorded stuff combined with just ITB mixing and non-audio educated ears. Of course other cases are much better, the producer learns the craft and educates himself in the world of audio, achieving amazing results thanks to combining modern tools with proper audio gear and skills.
