I know you touched on playstation emulation being shoddy at best, but how is the quality of N64 emulation? For the longest time n64 had been difficult to replicate. Another question is can the PCEngine emulator play PCE-CD games? I'm just getting into Swiss with gamecube and i am having a ton of fun with it. I already have nes and Snes on there, and I am looking to add more. This tutorial is about as straightforward as it gets. Very nice job with it!

If you want to get PC Engine CD working, I suggest RetroArch for GameCube on RetroArch's official site. Use the Mendafen PCE fast core to run the CD games. Don't forget about putting syscard3.pce in the RetroArch system folder so you have your BIOS.

Well I tried it, and I can't get any ROMS to open up on the emulators. I am running SWISS 0.6, and I have SD2SP2. When I try to open a rom in the emulators I get "Error can not open wii64 oms". My SD card is FAT32 formatted.

@CaptainPkmn ok, i got a gc dol 001 but without sd2sp2 port, i know it's rare. In my case i used a SD adapter and i put it in the second memory card Port and it works 😮, so i use this path to activate Swiss, so i think thats probably the problem that gave me to use the n64 emulation.

Same problem here, the N64, ps1, GameGear, Genesis, Master System, Sega CD, & SG-1000. The emulators start but cant access the rom dir or save settings. But after what @Arey Hernandez said I think it might be a SD2SP2 issue, having said that I have no problems with the Snes emulator. Also waded through so many dead end forum posts on the web and they all were unsolved, even on the google archive page the problem is mentioned but was never solved.

When you are done playing a game, how do you get back to swiss while in a game? Is there a button combo you need to push to get back to swiss or at least get back to the same emulator you are in to pick a different game to play in the same emulator? Thanks.

For Swiss i Dan not since I am using a clone of gcloader and that does not support the bios updater that allows for the resetting back to Swiss. From the emulators, the only one I tried it was the snes one, with that one it was left on the c stick.

I have issues with the Coleco and PC-Engine emulators : The very first time I run them I have the display OK but the emulator says "unable to find games on /" (despite I created the /smsplus/roms directory or /hugo/roms directory). Once an emulator was started once, the next time I get a black screen and the console is stuck. For the record I'm using a European PAL console. What could I have done wrong ?

Not64 and WiiSX-R are the goto emulators since this video was made. Now there's WiiStation as a fork from WiiSX-R, but I don't think it's available for Gamecube.

I was having issues with the GameCube recognizing the .z64 files and getting the directory error. I copied the wii64 folder and put it on the very first page where all my gamecube games are and it worked. Using Swiss v0.6 and an sdgecko, hopefully this’ll help someone else

Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to be working, at least not for me. I loaded all the file onto a micro sd card and put it into a SD2SP2 and every time I load up the emulators it says there is an error reading the source files where the ROMs are located.

i tried both the gamecube link cable (the one that plugs into the gamecube's player 1 controller port) AND a GBA link cable into the front port found on the Gameboy Advance Player attachment and i couldnt get either to talk to my GBA. What was your setup like / what games did u try ??

I could really use some help, i got everything to work except the Sega games, when i try to open any of the consoles' files it says "Unable to open directory !" i then made sure i had the latest version of Genesis Plus (gx) and it says the same thing. @@amauryrouillard7834 oh save files can be very finicky. Sometimes transferring it works, sometimes it doesnt. I try to transfer save files as much as i can but when it doesnt read it, i just let it be. If thats the case i just treat each save file as its own per console having its own save file

Wii64 just doesn't want to find the ROM file. I use an SD2SP2, while all the other emulators have tools to manually find the folders, except the Wii64. If the Wii64 that doesn't work SD2SP2, is there an alternative mod?

just get an SD memory card adapter. All of these emulators have long been abandoned by their developers, and don’t know about storage attached to SP2. Swiss can run the emulators from the SD2SP2, but you’ll still need an SD memory card adapter so that the emulator can find roms to load and run.

Me, and when looking for solutions all I get is dead end forum posts, people have had this problem but no one, as far as I can tell, has ever solved it. Otherwise I can get the Snes emulator to work and I have no problems running Gamecube games either. It's just the N64 emulator I have trouble with. Is it the only one not working for you too?

Do you know if playing GBA games through emulator on a Gamecube would be capable of linking up to a real GBA using a link cable in the Gamecube's front ports? Hi There sir, I was wondering if there was a way to save games on the vbagx emulator? I played through 3 hours of Pokémon silver on the emulator through my GC loaded GameCube, and even though I saved multiple times, it wasn’t there when I tried to reload it

Playing with it more, I found that if I saved the game then exited the game back to the emulator menu (press left on the c stick) before shutting off the system, the save was present when I came back. If I saved and turned off the system without backing out to the emulator menu, it was gone when I turned the system back on. Same thing for the GBA except you press (X) to access the emulator menu.

The programs should run from gc loader, but you may need sdgecko or sp2sd.

@@kennyklove4531 check using your computer to make sure your folders and files aren't read only. If the folders and files are read only you won't be able to open roms or save settings.

Getting this for the N64 emulator "Error opening directory sd:/wii64/roms" Emulator boots but can never load roms, and save settings isn't working either. Tried using the previous version too, same issue. The problem has existed, from the research I have done, for a long time and is even reported on the google archive page for the emulators on the issues page but was never solved, as far as I can tell. Checked a bunch of forums too, problem never solved. Same problem with the PS1 emulator. GameGear, Genesis, Master System, Sega CD, & SG-1000. Same problem, can't find directory. No problems with the Snes, GBA and GB/GBC emulators though. Anyway, if anyone has a work around or advice get in touch :) Using SD2SP2 with a FAT32 formatted 64gb micro SD card and running Swiss r1336.

@@MrPittStone Seems to be a fair bunch of us now! I have given up looking for answers now though, couldn't find anyone who had this problem who solved it. Oh well! Have really been enjoying the Snes emulator though, and the GBA one has some excellent titles worth playing too. @@L1mJahey Snes, GBA and GB/GBC are working. The others are not compatible with SD2SP adapter. Only with Memorycard SD Adapter.

@@MrPittStone Appreciate the comment, but I read, on my travels on forums and some comments here, that the memory card SD adapter doesn't always yield a successful result. I was convinced that this was the answer for a while though, until I saw people claiming that that can also result in failure. However, there were some success stories so who knows, could have been an anomaly. If you have one, or bought one and intend to try it, please post your results here. Would be interested to know how it went for you :)

I haven't tried it, but probably. If you go that route, just make a backup copy of the original file and keep 'em handy. Then you can rename the originals and fire away. If they don't run, you'll have those originals at the ready.

I wouldn't run emulators on my GameCube because I already have other consoles that run emulators. There's also my PC which can more than run those emulators at the best settings. Still, it's pretty awesome that even the Nintendo GameCube could run emulators
