Games need specific patches to get widescreen to run right. Super Metroid has one.

@@mdiGrilo Yes. The emulator just opens the ability for widescreen. You have to re-work the game and how it loads enemies to make use of it.

@@harizotoh7 you didn't understand. Super Mario world got that specific patch for widescreen. Super Metroid has yet to get the overhaul patch.

This is a great game. I need to play it again. The widescreen function don't seem to work 100% but maybe still better than nothing. I dunno. What might be best is if there were a way to put some sort of border to fill out the rest. These games were never designed to run in widescreen because few people had that back in the 90s, but nowadays its the standard.

I did some tests with this emulator, and unfortunately most games are rendering things in front of you! top Gear, battle cars and f-zero were the only ones that worked well.

Idk what the point of this HD Widescreen is but from what I'm seeing I wouldn't be using it as it would bug the hell out of me lol

it will let you see like 30% more of the screen, so you can see enemies from a longer distance, you can plan ahead, also more graphics in the screen is always a good thing specially for a beautiful game like DKC.

just get a crt monitor does everything better and just add scanlines and it looks waay better thanlcd

snes9x is a better emulator

That's my main emulator in general. Didn't have widescreen to try out though. Or doesn't as I haven't updated my SNES9x in a while. I think mine is 1.60.

snes9x has a very important place in the history of SNES emulation but it is absolutely not a better emulator than bsnes
