The woman is in her 20's/30's and fully clothed and clean. It's not that easy when you're changing the soiled diapers for your 90 year old frail grandfather with all that leg bending and side shifting. It's smells aweful and is definitely not a pleasant thing to watch. I hope I don't have to live so long.🙁

Thank you for this video. I have had home care caring for my Mom. Most of them do not have a clue what they are doing. I am having work done on my spine. Some have asked me to help. If I don’t help they do nothing they mark in the book stating they have done everything. This is a government funded company that is sending individuals in to care for people. If they do nothing they still get paid. This is fraud.

I will say it's not that people do not know how to do it, more so if I touch your parent the wrong way in your opinion then that's another issue. Not just that some are combative, also they could just be trying to get the feel of how to easily change them. I wouldn't lie and say I did something and didn't, now that I don't agree with. It's hard working with someone literally standing over you

I am starting to feel really desperate looking at this tutorials where worst-case scenarios are never shown. ALL OF THESE TUTORIALS (I have seen a lot of them) solely rely on the assumption that the patient can be rolled over to the side, but...WHAT IF THAT'S NOT POSSIBLE??!!! My mom needs to be in bed for two weeks, amd of course, she needs to use briefs, but she COMPLETELY UNABLE to roll over like that (she has a fracture in one of her pelvic bones) so you can imagine how HARD and excrutiating a task it can be to change her briefs. Can anyone please help me out???...Please...😢

Let's treat our client's with dignity. Don't refer to it as a diaper. It's an adult brief.
@leahgracefecteau60495 жыл бұрын

@commish25455 жыл бұрын
Calling it a diaper or brief does not make it dignified. You treat a customer with dignity and respect when if you are of opposite gender you ask if we are okay with you or would they prefer someone of the same gender as they.
@leahgracefecteau60495 жыл бұрын
I agree with you treating the person with respect is a big thing

We agree. Please remember that the movie is international, not only for american people who use the word adult brief. In India no one will understand it. In american movies we use the name adult brief.
@billyboy30314 жыл бұрын
@@commish2545 I have been an incon for almost 30 years. I have been changed by the best of them! I also can and do change myself when it's an option. As for calling a DIAPER a "brief"...I am far more offended and feel like I'm being patronized by the caregiver you call an obvious DIAPER a brief! I am not fooled by calling it an alligator! It's a diaper! I am NOT ashamed to wear diapers. Of course, I would rather not HAVE to rely on diapers to handle my elimination needs, but it is what it is and I'm NOT going to let this slow me down or affect my daily life more than necessary. Women use pads and other means of dealing with monthly menstrual issues and they need not be any more ashamed than I should be! A diaper is only just a universal name for a medical device designed to handle in the most efficient and dignified way the disposal of human waste. It is not a fashion statement. It is not used for recreational purposes (well, there actually ARE a large group of users who are recreational users, but that's not what I'm talking about right now). Diapers are an important and user friendly way to deal with waste disposal. There are, of course other methods of dealing with this, but this is, by many the preferred method. There is absolutely NO need to EVER feel ashamed or lose dignity because you are left with this as your only alternative! It's way better than not using ANY means and just going and making messes everywhere! Diapers are NOT just for babies! Nor are the only other people who use them old people on their way out!! People of ALL ages and genders use diapers!! The only problem with diapers is not using them when you should! As for how some people would try to make you feel about it, you don't care!!! You will not hear any negative things from anyone you love or care about and who feels the same about you! If you meet someone who shames you or otherwise makes fun of you, if it's in a professional situation..then report that person! If it's out in the private sector and a stranger, for some reason knows and is trying to make you feel badly, trust me, you can easily make them look the fool just by saying something like..."I was injured when I rescued a wounded soldier during an intense firefight and I was gravely wounded in the process. I saved the soldier and now this is how I'm forced to live"... Just think how that's going to make that person look to anyone hearing taunts and teasing by this kind of idiot! Everyone else will shame that person SO badly that they will feel like they wish it was them wearing a diaper!! There really are ways to stop someone from giving you grief over your brief...oh I just HAD to say that, even though I feel patronized when it's called a brief. Go into Wal-Mart and ask any salesperson where the briefs are and I garrentee you will be shown to the underwear section and not the adult diapers! LOL. Ok, I've made this much longer than I intended to, but I actually had fun with it! Don't be ashamed over choosing to deal with incontinence. At least you are dealing with it in the proper manor! A diaper gives you the freedom to live life just about as free as a person not lucky enough to wear diapers! When dealt with in the proper way, changed before leaking, being careful not to "advertise" that you are wearing a diaper, being respectful of others when wearing a diaper that is soiled and the odor can be extremely offensive to others! Even urine can have an odor that's strong enough to bother others. If your diaper needs to be changed, then go do that! There is always a way and a place! If a baby can be changed just about anywhere, then so can an adult! Another thing that is SO very helpful are adult changing stations. Even though they aren't everywhere...yet, where they are, they are SO helpful and makes changing a lot better and far more dignified! Ok, I have really gone on with this! My apologies to anyone who my lengthy post it did bother. My hope is that it was more helpful than bothersome. Thank you to all of you..live life folks! A diaper doesn't stop you from living life, it makes it possible!

The term "diapers" is inappropriate, it is insulting and demeaning to patients. Calling it a brief or incontinence pad is much more sensitive and helps maintain dignity.
