Hi John It would be nice if manufacturing people could measure in 1/10mm the focus plane position difference between film and PB backs. Then it would be easy for each lens finding the focus barrel shift distance in mm that gives the correct plane position shift and taping a white sewing thread in this position on the depth of field scale of each lens.

interesting, as with the lomograflok back, they just add a simple spacer to the viewfinder, to adjust for this distance, NO added thinking required!!, but also which films is this meant for, as fp100 C is now extinct, as well as a few other 'full frame' polaroid style emulsions (one instant/ New55), so we might have to wait until a film comes out so we can shoot it.

Dear Andy, Loved and thankful your sharing your ideas a lot, thank you so much, me and my teams are looking for some materials that can be replace in front of the Instax's frame to reduce the lens flange and space as much as possible, now we found it, however it's still very high cost per each screen and the factory required me the minimum orders, but it's must still very high volumes for me, so I'm keep trying to find the right one now, Many thanks again for your sharing and comments that very useful, Have a wonderful weekend dear, John

If I understand correctly, when using a 60mm lens at f/5.6 you double the distance on the lens? Example would be if your subject is at 8 feet, you set the focus at 16 feet and this will correct the error of the focal plane?

Hi.. Rookie !! thank you so much for your curious to know dear, Shifting focused 2X mean, whenever you’re using the f-stops lower than f16, Every actual focused distance, Should be multiplied by 2 (x2) to make sure the subjects in focused when the instant film printed out, For the f- stops from 16 22 or 32 you just focus point and then shoot normally like you’re shooting with films or digital backs, no need to shifting focus by x2 (These because of some limitation of the instant focal plane right now but for the HassyPB in the 2nd generation this issue will be disappeared, I mean the next version will be improves, Thank you so much for your nice question, cheers !! ❤️❤️
