what chemicals are limited by EN 71-3 and would a product that adheres to EN 71-3 theoretically be safer for adults as well?

Hi, I have read EN71-1 and it looks like our product does not need to be tested for any of sections. It does not have sharp edges and so on. Do I still have to have the product tested by a 3rd party?

You still need to comply with EN 71-3 at a minimum, so testing will be needed. That said, if you explain to the lab what you just mentioned here, they can probably provide an assessment on EN 71-1 as well - without adding too much to the testing bill. This is important, because if you are subject to an investigation, be it by Amazon or gov entity in the EU/UK, you will be glad that you have EN 71-1 compliance documented in the form of a test report. In the end, the point of a test report is to demonstrate compliance with EN 71-1, even if your product is technically harmless. It's good that you are one step ahead and assessed it before though.
