I was in Istanbul last month and amount of men telling how beautiful I was insane. I can only imagine what you went through. It wasn’t a bad thing-they loved my dark skin. It was a nice change to hear for once. Anyways you are absolutely stunning and glad you’re opening up your life to us

Turkish people just like arabs can be extremely racist lived around both quite a lot for instance a lot of arab people call black people the Arabic word for slave. But what I do find is that a lot of younger generations are less prejudice. But don't be fooled they like you and can admire you until you enter (try too) into their families. Meaning marrying into the family. They all of the sudden become crazy racist. Seen it so many times its sad 😔. My take is this still be careful, but alos don't expect them all to be racist or treat you wrong on a surface level most will be kind, but also don't be naive. I ate at a turkish restaurant once with one of my turkish friends and they were saying the most degrating and racists things about me in turkish while treating me normal and beinh friendly to my face. But apparently they had to throw away there dishes cause i ate there. Afterwards my friend told me everything I got soooooo mad she let me sit there and eat and pay them while insulting me.

I believe it is like that with any culture-especially Ethiopian culture. It is fine being friends with black Americans but to be married to one is a big no. Honestly even being friends with them is a big no, because of how society betrays black Americans. I don’t know where you are from, but Africans and black Americans are divided. Whether people want to acknowledge it or not. Black Americans think Africans think the are better than them & that is not the case whatsoever.
