People in the comment section were thinking they're laughing at him mockingly 🤦♀️ did we watch the same video? They were laughing because of the atmosphere, he's very straightforward and kept on adding humor whenever he speaks. He actually crowd managed the judges so well. They were so fond of him. You can literally hear in the end laughing cry noises in the background. This is so normal in high schools and universities for research-related settings.

@@cloudchaser21 otakus will move onto next game from another company that appeals exclusively to otaku cultures while mihoyo continues to put out characters limited within the boundaries that normies can accept. mihoyo thinks they can generate more revenue by appealing to the normies, but I doubt it because at first when genshin was still a small community (like late 2019 to mid-2020) it was the otakus sticking to the game without enough contents and gave genshin a chance to grow in the later days. Genshin was never this big right from the start, it faced a lot of hate due to plagiarism (botw, divinity: original sin 2) at least that was what I experienced in china. when genshin abandon its most loyal fans, it faces serious challenge and the company needs more effort on adaptation than what they are showing right now.

I mean, he wanted to make games where people idolize and interact with their characters, yet due to the change in western society, Hoyo keeps removing things like touch and other interacting features and censoring characters that were already only very mildly showing skin. Games like Genshin are very different and tame/safe in comparison and also try to cater to non-otakus. The only games that still do the straight up idolizing/interacting with the player filling their emotional needs are houkai gakuen for male players, which got shut down in the west, and tears of themis for female players, which currently has its second anniversary in the west.

I don't necessarily *like* mobile gaming, but let's take things into perspective: in 2013, the average phone could barely run Angry birds-like games. In general, mobile games were considered utter trash, the domain of "games for boomers wasting their time while on public transport". fast forward 10 years, it's now almost the 3rd anniversary of Genshin. The phones that initially could run genshin quite well now make it run quite bad... but the newer devices run it like breeze. Imagine another 10 years from now what it will be. Maybe the devices themselves will come to a stop in terms of raw power, but the (game) industry itself is not stopping there anytime soon.
