Welcome to the official KZbin channel of chart-topping female R&B vocal group, En Vogue. En Vogue was formed by producers Denzil Foster and Thomas McElroy under the vision of a modern R&B girl group with strong vocals, intelligence, and show-stopping glamour. Dawn Robinson, Cindy Herron, Maxine Jones, and Terry Ellis made the cut out of 3,000 women who auditioned. The group was an immediate hit upon their first single in 1990 and set the standard for female vocal groups. Through the evolution of the lineup to the current members of Herron-Braggs, Ellis, and Rhona Bennett, En Vogue continues to tour, release new music, and dazzle and inspire fans everywhere. _Born to Sing,_ overall was a hit. You really couldn't go wrong w/ any of the selections. My older cousins and I made so many steps to y'all songs, ladies. That album introduced me into music. I was like 4 or 5 when it came out.

The 1990s, my era!!! When I think of essential artists of the 1990s, specifically year 1990, En Vogue was such a pivotal group to that era. That accapella piece in the front of Hold On was such a game changer, it came to shape and influence all vocal female R&B groups, thereafter [SWV, Xscape, Jade, Brownstone, 702] ..even male counterparts, BoyzIIMen were often describe as the male version of En Vogue. And although TLC and Destiny's Child experienced greater commercial success, EV's vocal blend was simply magic, and became the bar to which all in their lane aspired to. They put vocals and tight harmonies on the map like no other R&B group. En Vogue is to female R&B groups, what Whitney is to female vocalist. They are considered the pinnacle by most. If you remove them from the picture, and the R&B landscape drastically changes.

Thirty years. Can't believe it. Shout out to these beautiful sistas man. To me, they're the best vocally sounding female singing group...period. Singing and harmonizing was off the charts. And, coming into the 90's, they were only one of the few female groups not to succumb to the proselytized "tomboyish" look that was so prevalent then. They were the very true definition of women what should be.
