Hi!! I am new to crocheting, so first time using this pattern. My Mom used to crochet this years ago but passed away in 1991. So when I seen your tutorial I got so excited and am giving it a try!! My only hang up is I am doing the 186 chain and when I got to the 4th row where we count 19 then use the front stitch only down one, I came up off at the end and my last one was this.
@HooknLoops Жыл бұрын
Hi Jolene Egger, make sure to not work into the first and last chains of each row and when you do the double crochet make sure to not work into the single crochet behind it. So after skipping the first chain then the next 19 stitches are single crochet and the 20th stitch is the double crochet. Then repeat. The last four stitches should be 1 double, next 2 stitches single then 1 chain at the end. It's easy to loose count on this pattern but there are easy fixes. If you need to add a stitch you can do 2 single crochet in one or if you have too many you can do 1 single crochet in two stitches. Remembering your Mother while Crocheting the blanket, I think is a very endearing way of honoring her memory. If you need more help with this pattern we have a Facebook group wear you could post a pic and I could look at it to see it and get a better idea of how I can help.

Thank you Tracy Rodriguez, Here are the foundation chain amounts and the length and you can stop whenever it is wide enough. Ch 146 for a throw about 60" x 48" long ch 186 for a twin about 90" long x 60" Ch 246 for a full/queen size blanket or afghan about 94" long x 90" Ch 286 for King size blanket or afghan about 110" long x 96" You can also make a custom size by chaining 2 at beg, ch multiples of 20 and ch 4 at the end.

For the 40 x 60 afghan, about how many yards of worsted weight yarn will I need in each color (3 colors)?

Hi Sheila Flores, about 20 skiens of yarn. Check out the description section for more information. Thank you
@sheilaflores24873 жыл бұрын
Is it 20 skeins for each color?
@HooknLoops3 жыл бұрын
The skiens I use are 350 yards. If I was doing a 40 x 60 I would use 20 skiens because I would rather have too much yarn than not enough. So if I want to use 3 colors I would divide 3 into 20= 6.66, so round that up to 7. So 7 skiens for each color. 7 x 3= 21. So a total of 21 skiens.
@lunah56683 жыл бұрын

@HooknLoops11 ай бұрын
You can make any size you like with this formula: 2 ch needed at beginning 3 ch + 1ch for knot at end, ch in multiples of 20 in middle. Slip knot at the begining is for fringe knot. Ch1 at end is for knot. Do not work in these knots. Ch 146 for a throw about 60" long.

I’m really sorry I’m trying here. So I want to do a 60x40 with 3 colors, that would be 20 skeins of yarn total, then I would get 7 skeins of each color. Again I’m sorry I’m just confused 😅

@HooknLoops3 ай бұрын
@emileehutchinson688 when you chain 146 that should be 60 inches long then you just stop doing rows when it reaches 40 inches. It depends on how many yards the skeins are. If the skeins are 350 yards then you probably only need about six skeins.
