Pity that OBS Studio still can't record AV1 using a Main10 profile, even with the new nvenc encoder. I guess I'm stuck with HEVC for HDR recordings ...

I dont have a settings option, my only options are properties, filters, and display, anyone got a fix for it? I want to be able to clip my gaming clips etc
@TerryDoesTech12 күн бұрын
the Settings option featured on screen in the video. bottom right corner of OBS. sounds to me like you're looking at the options to a Display Capture you have selected.
@PoofyXD12 күн бұрын
@@TerryDoesTech For me there is no settings option, its only the ones I listed in the comment, the only things I can see our the name of the scene and then settings for it, no obs settings, just properties, filters, and then the display, literally no other buttons

Would LOVE to switch from H.264 but I haven't received a concrete answer if HEVC (H.265) or AV1 is supported in the FREE version of Davinci Resolve.
@TerryDoesTech26 күн бұрын
8bit hevc is supported in the free version, av1 should be fine as well.

@ mhmmm that part im not sure
@TerryDoesTech21 күн бұрын
@monzterzackuncut948 next time you're editing, pull up task manager, scrub through your footage, and keep an eye on your GPU usage. That will let you know.

Hmm I wonder if we may see this feature for the Intel Arc cards in the future because they have dual media encoders as well and you don't have to spend as much as a 4080 to get them.
@TerryDoesTech28 күн бұрын
Always a possibility! Just have to see if the devs find value in the feature for those particular cards.

Question, How To Share desktop Audio with my brother that's on another computer (in another state) and we are using VOD ninja with OBS to record in the same video. I want him to hear my Desktop audio so we can hear at the same time the video we are reacting to.
@TerryDoesTechАй бұрын
@@dashiet3 considering this isn't the scope of this video, I have no idea. You can always record a discord call where you're sharing your screen, that way they should be able to hear audio while seeing what youres seeing

Having this enabled wouldn't hurt if I'm streaming with x264 and recording with Nvidia AV1 correct?
@TerryDoesTech11 күн бұрын
It would split the recording between the two nvenc encoders, not the streaming using your CPU.
@2Rawh11 күн бұрын
@TerryDoesTech ok making sure I understood. Not sure i want to keep these settings though. Cpu usage in obs is at 25% might disable the split and just stream/record from the gpu
@TerryDoesTech11 күн бұрын
@2Rawh these days, you don't need to to use CPU based software encoding due to how efficient GPU based encoding is. Modern graphics cards can run up to 8 sessions of encoding at a time. Look up the chart by Nvidia to check the specs for your specific card.

How are you able to see yourself onscreen while recording with OBS?

everything you see in this video is shown on screen inside of OBS in the preview window.

@TerryDoesTech I have used OBS for recording, but each time I open new tab while recording, I am unable to see myself. Is there a setting for that in OBS?
