Went here a bunch as a kid. Not too too much since it was about an hour away, but still close enough for two or three visits in the Summer. Always loved it. Then, after I graduated High School and my younger siblings stopped caring about going to places like this, I haven't been since. It would pop in my head every now and then, and I would hope it was still around, but I wouldn't look it up for fear of the worst. Then, last year, I was going up to Portland for medical reasons (all better now). I look off to my side to check if they were still open. Now, I couldn't see any big "open" signs or anything, but it looked maintained so my spirits were lifted. Another trip and I looked and noticed that there were a good number of cars in the lot. That cemented the knowledge that it was still operational, and made me happy. I still wanna go back there. My inner child yearns for it. I vow to one day go back, especially knowing the history now.

Definitely a full day park, loved exploring all the weird corners, especially with pinnochio's house and the cave light show. And Challenge of Mondor was one of the biggest surprises I have ever experienced at any park, had no idea it was there and didn't expect a park this scale to have a top 15 dark ride (people saying lost island's dark ride is the best non-chain dark ride haven't been here lmao)

Enchanted Forest has a very special place in my heart. It's a wonderful place to walk through as an adult. Every bit of it is handmade and it shows in the nicest way. I just wanted to mention that Mr Tofte the owner who is in his 80s I believe still does a lot of work on the park. The Humpty Dumpty in the video is a replacement he made of the original that some tourists broke a few years back.

This park has been on my bucket list for a long time. I'm not sure if you are aware, but just outside Baltimore, in a town called Ellicott City, there was an Enchanted Forrest Theme Park too. We used to go as kids in the early 80s. While it had no roller coasters, it did have some smaller rides, slides, and plenty of walk through attractions. Storybook Land in New Jersey is very similar to what it used to be like in its walk through area. Look it up. I'm sure you'd love to see some of its history. Some of the structures and park items were moved to a nearby farm to be preserved too. The farm allows people to come visit to view them too.

Hello! I am a former employee at the enchanted forest theme park, I quickly skimmed through the video because I thought it was cool to see a review of the park so I didn't know if you already addressed the wrist bands but they were removed due to people buying them during summer and still having to wait hours for rides and eventually they wouldn't even be able to ride the ride because of the wait times. so TLDR the wrist bands ended up costing customers more money than just buying the tickets to ride the rides so they removed the wristbands.

We just went for the first time recently and the line to get on to the enclosed coaster was almost two hours long according to the signs. However, since we were a party of two amongst a crowd of larger groups we got called up after about 20 minutes of waiting when they needed to fill space [as did some other single and double rider folks before us]. We waited an hour in line for Chalange of Mondor. If you love kitch and jank like I do it's a really fantastic attraction. If the line wasn't so long with so little else to do in the park I'd go back to to ride that a few times in a row.

@@ziploc2000 Hahaha, yeah, they barely work for 12 year olds. I remember as I got older and older, I went from being able to run around in those caves, to having to duck my head, to finally having to basically crawl. But personally, that was one of my favorite things at the park. It’s also the only thing the park attendants would scold us for doing (i.e. running around in there). Jokes on them though since they couldn’t follow us inside. Bwahhahahahaha. You can see I’m still basically a kid at heart. Not much maturity in these last 40 years.

This was always the go to place for any Oregonian (as well as Thrill Ville USA, which was right next door to Enchanted Forest and closed down years ago) who couldn't afford to go to California's theme parks. Pretty sure everyone I knew growing up went there, especially since we only lived roughly an hour away. I saw a post a few years ago from an old coworker from my hometown mention that Humpty Dumpty had fallen over and broke, and that thankfully he was able to be replaced with a new one (you can't have a storybook themed park without Humpty).

An important note on the ride tickets - yes they are $1 per ticket, however you can exchange unused tickets upon exit for a refund, so you don't run the risk of the "City Fair" style bulk purchase of tickets that force you to have unused tickets at the end because ticket counts don't work out with the multiples of the ride costs.
