Cuphead devs didn't invent the game's style nor were the first to make it, they took it from old cartoons to make the game, so they also took inspiration from them to make it, besides there are many different games that share the same styles and even ideas and the gaming community grows and gets better with what people contribute to the community and everyone starts using that to inspire themselves and make their own games adding those things or making other things based and inspired on those things, if it's good and it's inspired but not outright a copy of the exact game or games they took inspiration and ideas from and it's its own game then it's totally okay for people to do that, that's what people do all the time, there exist many farming games, many survival games, many shooting games, many RPG games with similar and inspired in other games mechanics. It makes sense that the game is compared to Cuphead, as that is what they were going for. Considering this game was made by 2 people, in a fraction of the amount of time it took to make Cuphead (Cuphead was in development for like 9 years), I think they did well. One thing though, is that fighting the bosses don't feel engaging. I think the issue is more on the sound effects used, like Cuphead had good sounds for firing their finger guns. Another thing they could have added were something like knockout animations after beating a boss, rather than just ending it immediately and moving on. Also, phases between the bosses in Cuphead wasn't transitioned using single frames, but I understand that would take a lot more time to implement, so I understand why they did so. Other then that, it's an alright game.

In some places this is normal, but in others it puts pressure on the brain. I’m keeping quiet about the sound of the shot for now. But it’s okay, you can survive it, as long as the gameplay is good. But the gameplay sucks. Boss attacks are almost entirely taken from cuphead. Is this game for gaming journalists? You can play through the entire game standing in one place, only occasionally moving to the side. I can name only a couple of moments when you actually have to dodge attacks. And this is a shame, because the game provides enough tools for all possible evasions. The game has potential, but it's not realized half as well as it could be. The game isn't intense and it's generally cool, but not for something like cuphead. This is what makes the game look like a cheap knockoff

TL;DR: Its a okay game in my eyes. While i dont give out my opinion very often and im not a game developer nor have i played this game but i would say this is a pretty okay game considering that its made by two people. It has a bit of different mechanics (like the dodging mechanic in the flying & swimming levels), nice character designs and funny twists when it comes to the boss phases (a example being the princess getting kissed by the frog and turning into one). Maybe the sound effects (like shooting effects or sounds coming from the bosses) could be improved but honestly all i have to complain about. The cartoon artstyle is also pretty nice and i like the CGs that come during the bosses before you enter the next phase. The boss attacks are basic but i will turn a blind eye on that as it is hard to be original with boss attacks nowdays. I also like the tree phase during the final boss, it gives me "Tree of knowledge" vibes, same goes for the first phase where the final boss attacks you with different attacks the previous bosses used, that was very creative in my opinion. Yes, it is inspired by Cuphead. I wouldnt say that its a total ripoff, the game is trying to have its original story, its easier than the actual Cuphead and theres a possible continuation soon, so we have to be patient to see what that will bring us. Maybe during that time, the game has made some changes and improvements but once again, this was made by two people so this could possibly take a bit longer. I do think that 20$ is a bit too much but i theorize its because these people use a engine or art/animation program that requires a bit more money. Overall, i dont think others should judge too quickly because "Cartoon Artstyle + Shooter Game = Cuphead Ripoff". We have to wait and see what the future of this game will bring us.

It’s not necessarily that the game is bad, the animation is shockingly smooth for what it is! All they’d need to fix is the controls, the shooting system, the music, the sound effects, and maybe animate the transitions for extra points, and it would be a genuinely good game. I also think they should maybe fix the “difficulty” by removing a few enemies from the stages. Spamming enemies dosen’t make your game hard, it just makes it unfair.. The game is cool for what it is, and definitely a fun concept! Just needs some tweaks.

Interesting. I have only made one game it’s it is pretty bad but I say be proud in the game making. Even though not everyone would like it, you still got the experience for it and can now make even better ones in the future ❤❤❤ i love it!!! Embrace your creations. Soon your other games will become well known and this also makes me people feel motivated to do their things because they will see that you had some games that weren’t great but kept going. Overall I think it is nice the game there are some moments that seem off but not bad overall

This game indeed needs a HUGE upgrade but what a lot of people don’t understand is, that only 2 people made this game. But for cuphead there were +20 people working for 7 years (??). Yes Enchanted Portals is supposed to have similar features like Cuphead but the developers of these two games are completely different, so comparing a smaller team with a larger team is kinda unfair.

See, it’s so depressing how at first the kickstarter or whatever cooled cool and as time went on, people started to hope this means that the creators are really giving it their all. But when we get to the final product… the only thing good about it was the into cutscene, which still wasn’t the best. I just hope they learn from their mistakes and make a better cuphead ripoff or upgrade this game into something that is worth the same amount of money as cuphead.

Ya know, with polish, alot of it, and the gimmick actually being used of switching animation styles for the boss levels, this could have been cool. Like, boss 1, Tim Burton Boss 2, ren and stimpy wierd style cartoon Boss 3, watercolor Boss 4, Cinderella Boss 5, old fashion cartoons (just after rubberhose) Boss 6, 3d, like chicken little, but good Boss 7, tom and jerry Boss 8, intentionally ugly Boss 9, Original, then Disney cartoon series, then Anime.

I really love the concept and designs for some of the bosses! And while some animations are nice, the game just needs to be completely reworked in terms of the music looping, the sucky controls and battle mechanics, and more animated cutscenes like the boss transitions!
