Enchanted Princess Food and Restaurant Review

For years you have been able to rely on Princess Cruises to have amazing food, or at least that WAS the case. In our Enchanted Princess Food and Restaurant Review, we find out if the Princess have kept up that high level of food and dining excellence or have things slipped?
In this video we take a look at all of the dining, restaurant and quick food venues that are included in your cruise fare at no extra charge, as well as looking at the upcharge and speciality dining options, and of course giving Enchanted Princess an overall score for her food and restaurant offerings.
It is worth noting, if you take the Princess Premier Package, you get two speciality dining restaurant credits per cruise, and these can be used on any of the fixed price speciality dining venues, Crown Grill, Sabatini's or Bistro Sur La Mer. They cannot be used in A La Carte dining such as Ocean Terrace or Salty Dog Gastropub.
As usual with our videos, our commentary is done in a single take to give you our honest, non-scripted opinions. And as always our videos and all content is shot by us, in 4K and no stock images are used.

We were on the Enchanted in March and agreed with you on the Bistro. We also felt that the food on Princess had gone downhill. We did eat in Sabitini's and weren't impressed. We did eat Sushi twice and will again. We have a cruise booked on Enchanted in December. Have one night booked in the Crown Grill. But having said all this We just returned from a HAL cruise to Alaska and doubt we'll sail Princess again after December. These mega ships with the crowds are tiresome.

Hi Mike, it is such a shame that it appears to have gone downhill so much recently. Hopefully Princess will turn it around. But right now we kind of feel the same as you. And the prices on the new Sun Princess have not encouraged us to try that when it launches. It was far more expensive on a like for like basis that Celebrity Beyond which is getting great reviews. So we suspect it'll be a while till we are next on a Princess Cruise. Fingers crossed yours is much better in December. Let us know when you come back how it was. Linzi and Mark

The Sushi was really good Henry, even if quite a few menu items weren't available on our cruise, it was still fantastic. We don't know who Gigi is either, but they should bring back Alfredos in our opinion. Linzi & Mark

Overall, we've seen the food quality on Princess decreasing thru the years. The only exception to this was our last cruise where we were in the lowest grade of suite. THis provided a special area of the main dining room, which had a couple of additional items per night. These were excellent. I found the food otherwise to be on par with a chain restaurant in the US....OK, but nothing special. We even had a seriously raw dish served in the Crown Grill....by which time I was too tired to send it back and wait for a re-make. We would only book Princess again if we needed it for a specific itinerary. That's the point at which we'd give them another try.

It is so disappointing that the quality seems to have dropped so much in recent years. We had a similar experience in Crown Grill on our Regal Princess cruise, and incredibly slow service too (around 50 minutes between appetiser and main course), and then it was cooked wrong, and we sent it back, and had another extended wait. However we gave it another go on Enchanted Princess, and it was one of the better meals we had on board. We are pretty much the same as you though now, it would be either a specific itinerary such as Alaska or Panama that would make us go back; or if the new ship they are about to launch is majorly different (like Edge class was for Celebrity). Chai tea with full fat milk is sweet. BUT if you order it with almond milk, it is much less so. We love them iced!

Princess just raised their prices for Crown Grill - now $39 up from $29. Sabatini's has gone up $10 as well. Now $35.

@@SuiteNatured I was shocked when I did reservations for my upcoming cruise in May 2023. That is either a 34% or a 40% increase. I really don't think it is justified.

Bistro Sur La Mer: Princess indicated they wanted the atmosphere of sitting outside at a table in Paris. I think the missed the plot 🧐 There is no way the fish and chips could have been characterized as 'fine dining'. I was very sad. Had a better fish and chips recently at "Jack the Chipper' in Whitechapel. Thank you for a wonderful review.

Good evening my lovelies :-) Ive actually watched your video at a reasonable time this evening for a change :-) Of course, it goes without saying, I thoroughly enjoyed listening ti every word. I will ask for the cinnamon bun at the international cafe, I love them. I smiled, because Im forever sticking my nose into a whirl of cream etc on cakes - but, I have an excuse for it..im blind lol...buit, im glad im not the only one - makes me feel better now haha You are making me think about Crown Grill. The last twice we have eaten there was not great, so we have avoided it ever since. However, I do absolutely love the back and blue soup. They also used to do a dessert called "The chocolate pot" which was amazing - but they no longer do that sadly. I am definitely going to have the sushi next week, as we haven't had it onboard princess at all, and Alfredo's, I do love, so will definitely be there :-) Im not so much an eggs Benedict fan - but I do love eggs Florentine, so, I usually ask for it the first day, and then they have it every other morning ready for me after that, just in case ha. Yes, I ordered eggs Benedict everyday in the MDR without it being on the menu and the server said no problem!!

Don’t worry Linz, we had breakfast in Sabatini’s and it wasn’t the best. They had Eggs Benedict on the menu, and I had to send the first one back as they came with hard poached eggs, the ones they brought back were slightly softer but still not great, ham was below par too. We also tried the pancakes and yours looked much better, ours were American pancake sized but seemed to be made with english pancake batter. Felt like we had the trainee breakfast chef on all 4 mornings. We used to love Princess but this was the most disappointing cruise in terms of food, drink service, technology, lack of knowledge about their product that we have ever had. Not sure we would rush to book with them again. They had a few staff that were absolute stars but just felt that they were generally understaffed. Doing RCI Allure next in Oct so hoping that will be better. Love your videos.

Hi Richard, what a shame, even when you had them they were not that great. It was a far lesser experience on Princess this time, and our upcoming Enchanted Princess Full Cruise Review will be very interesting. We've said the same about not rushing back, so hopefully it'll give Princess chance to iron out the issues, and next time we are back on, it will hopefully be a massive improvement, although not sure when that will be. Allure.... Have you sailed her before? The Oasis class is such a brilliant ship class, and Allure is great, we loved her. Linzi & Mark

I knew you two had exquisite taste ! My favorite steak of all steaks is a thick juicy rib eye and my hubby Tim's favorite of all time steak is a generous Porterhouser as he calls them. With a large filet side being a must. You should see him at the butcher shop, having the butcher showing him every PH on the rack, so that he can choose the best one bar none 🙂 I just love your video's -- you two are both the sweetest and have a good amount of spiciness too - YAY ! Cheers to you both for many more exciting times cruising and continuing to make brilliant video's !!! m. We would absolutely love to go on that cruise from Vancouver to Honolulu, especially at bargain prices, we just don't have the time this year to get on it, with Celebrity Apex just eight weeks after we get of QM2, but we will be coming over to that side, hopefully next year.
