Just had a thought kind of late in the game and one that I'm always aware of. We booked for being onboard over Christmas and that means toddlers and kids. We learned our lesson years ago or maybe I didn't.

There will definitely be more kids onboard on a holiday sailing. But there are still adults only areas like the Retreat pool.

Princess needs to address the indoor smoking not fair to those that don’t smoke and it is a health challenge!!! I will be avoiding the casino even though I love playing the slots!!! Can’t do smoke!!!

I agree - it's out of control with the smoking section taking up 75% of the casino on the newer ships.

Agreed 100%. The casino should be more proactive in preventing secondary smoke inhalation. I love to play on slot machines, but the smoke often made me sick and caused asthma related problems. NCL cruises have smoking section completely separated. Princess can easily do that too.

see my comments above regarding Deck 6 travel on the Majestic Princess. I did note it was not acceptable on my post cruise survey from Princess. Smelled like an ash tray after each time walking through it.

We just sailed Majestic a week ago to Alaska and brought up the theatre exit on deck six where you have to go through the casino on our after cruise survey. It was all smoking and we smelled like an ash tray if we walked through it. So to exit on deck six you either have to walk up to deck 7, travel to the midship stairs and then go back down to deck 6 or IF the VIP section of the casino on the port side is not in operation you can go that way but its a definite hit or miss operation. Also our Piazza experience was different than yours so they go the message because it had events way into the night and one afternoon had the puppies onboard at Skagway and they were adorable.

I've cruised on Enchanted twice in the past 12 months; Sept. 2023 and Feb. 2024. I loved everything about Enchanted except the entertainment. I thought it was just a European thing cruising out of Barcelona but it was poor out of Ft. Lauderdale, too. I'd say 4 bands/groups were ok but the rest, not so much. And, I didn't see a show in the theater I liked. The English singer/comedian should have stuck to singing. I also wasn't fond of the bands just playing 45 minute sets and then moving on. On other cruises I've taken, the bands would play all night in one venue. I prefer that. Maybe I'm spoiled.

Thank you for the video on the Enchanted Princess! We will be sailing on the Enchanted Princess in November in a mini-suite. Do you recall if there’s an automatic nightlight by the bedside and going into the bathroom? We had this feature on the Emerald Princess. Also, did you notice an outlet near the bed for a C-Pap machine? Thank you for any information you can provide!

Yes there’s a nightlight in the closet by the bathroom and under one of the bedside tables. There are outlets in the desk area which would be close to one side of the bed or twin bed closest to the balcony. There are only USB A ports by each bed. You may need to ask for an extension cord for the c pap. You aren't allowed to bring a cord. Ask either your room steward or guest services as soon as you board. By the time you go to your room at night it will probably be set up for you. If you need a wedge pillow be sure to request it early as well

Hello Andrew. I'm not really sold on Princess at this time. There are many design and service elements that I think I will like but NCL has me at this time as a retiree who often travels solo, and Celebrity has us when my wife graciously takes time off work. One thing though is that it seems that Princess does the British Isles better than my favourites and it's more a question of time than anything else. I think the main difference is the Irish Pub replaced the gastro bar on the main piazza level, which is a very positive change in my opinion. O'Malleys was one of the most popular venues on the ship when the Irish duo was performing. It's a great ship - I hope you have an amazing cruise!

I also noticed on Celebrity that when they change a cruise director, there is a completely different vibe on the ship. I did cruises three weeks apart and was surprised at the differences.

Just came off my first ever Princess cruise (Discovery Princess) and I’m a fan! They actually renovated during my voyage so Salty dog gastropub has changed to O’Malley’s. They also swapped the venues for Sabatini’s and Catch by Rudi going forwards.

Great video! I recently enjoyed a cruise on the Sky and really enjoyed it except for the smoke in the casino. Our cruise had 500 or so comped casino cruisers and it seems they are all smokers. Cough cough .🚭 Now I'm going to go back to your Sky videos.

Thanks for the feedback! Smoke was definitely an issue on Sky as well and I mentioned it in that video too! The smoking section is much smaller on the earlier Royal class ships (Royal, Regal and Majestic) although that could change.

The cabins were quiet. You could hear the band from the balcony when they were playing but it wasn't very loud. The band plays at most 45 minutes on the lido deck on any given day so I wouldn't worry about it.

We just got back a week ago and agree with the 6 mid ship and forward elevators. We found the aft elevators were not as crowded and by the time you walked from mid to aft and then to your deck others were still waiting at the mid deck.

I’m on the Enchanted a few times this year. Did you see their new policy with the Sanctuary? Now if you want it, you have to book a Sanctuary room, not sure if that’s just for Sun and Star ships.

Unfortunately only Grand class and early Royal class Princess ships have a small library. If you like onboard libraries then you should definitely check out Holland America! The library is as big as some specialty restaurants on most ships and feels like a nice bookstore.

It boggles the mind to learn ANY cruise ship allows smoking. What are they thinking. The stench on clothes and hair can’t be sucked out the air. It stays on passengers. We’ve not traveled on Princess, but we’ve heard grumbling from friends who have been on this ship that the smell is not just in the casino. And almost 5,000 passengers and crew is way too big, anyway. Guess we’ll stick with Seaborne, Viking, and Windjammer.

My wife and I were kicked off Enchanted Princess half way through a back to back 20 days Caribbean sailing after I tested positive with Covid-19. Up until that point I had been a loyal Princess cruiser. The ship was only one year old and I thought was beautiful, but how my wife and I were treated during and after our disembarking made me swear to never sail with Princess again. The crew treated us rudely and their staff (land based) lied to us multiple times as I had to fight and argue with them to get reimbursement. I now enjoy cruising with Celebrity.

Not sure what else you were expecting the parents to do. I can think of a lot worse than what was said and a closed door. If you think it's bad for you, how do you think the parents feel in the room. Don't think your knock on the door helps the situation at all. Maybe an adult only cruise would serve you best going forward!

Atrocious!!! Asinine!!! Worthless!!! Have yet to have a hot meal at the buffet. Customer service told us we could be provided with a fan for our suite... NOPE!!! "It's a fire hazard" or so they say but Holland America gave us one with a smile. So I walked 3 miles to Kmart on St. Thomas to buy one and Princess confiscated it with out remorse. PISSED OFF!!!! The ship design is severly lacking as far as efficiency and ease of getting around. My mother is in a wheelchair and it's a sick joke to get around. And OMG the elevators... I know they are an issue on all ships but this is so much worse than I have ever experienced. 3 days in and I want to go home.
