In the encoder circuit that we have discussed over here, it has been assumed that at a given time only one input is active. If more than one inputs are active at the same time then it won’t work properly. But practically we do not have that ideal situation and multiple inputs might occur at the same time, like multiple keys are pressed simultaneously. I think you are talking about the difference between Decimal to BCD and Decimal to Binary Encoder, right !! Well if so, then there is no difference. Because BCD is also binary representation specifically for decimal numbers. So, both has same logical expression and logic circuit.
