Here’s a video of my climb up Nikko Shirane Mountain, located on the border between Gunma and Tochigi Prefectures. At an elevation of 2,578 meters, it’s the highest mountain north of the Kanto region, known for its stunning views and abundant alpine plants. I took the Shirane Mountain Ropeway from Marunuma Kogen Ski Resort and did a round-trip hike from the summit station, with a total course time of about 5 hours. On the snow-covered trail in the harsh winter, I struggled through deep snow, but was comforted by the beauty of the snow as I made my way to the summit. Despite the strong winds and challenging climb, the 360-degree panoramic view from the top made it all worthwhile. Watch this experience as I enjoy the breathtaking scenery and the challenges of climbing Nikko Shirane Mountain. If you enjoyed the video, please like and subscribe!
