Thank you so much for all the nice comments. Makes it all worth it to get these videos out. As for the details of the cannon, will try and rush out a video soon to explain both this and and the rail cannon. The details of the cannons are as follows. 102400 tnt explodes and accelerates the pearl to 88 000 blocks per gametick. It reaches its target 55 gameticks later at around 3 750 000 blocks away from 0,0. The chunk loading that is used is villager loaders that are placed in the exact locations where the pearl is traveling too. The pearl bouncing seen in this video was discovered after many weeks of looking for a perfect bounce that produces an accuracy of 6 decimal places making the pearl fly horizontally instead of shooting into the sky given the extreme power it gets from the 100k tnt. To make this powerful of a cannon lazy chunk stored TNT is used where 102400 tnt is accelerated towards the player by 1600 tnt placed half a block behind. When the chunk is loaded the 1600 tnt blows up instantly and delivers the charge to the player that blows up 2 gameticks after it arrives. The lag caused by this much tnt needs a server where the max-tick-time usually set to 60000 in the server propertys be set to -1 so the watch dog can be disabled or it will cause a server crash. Its also possible to use carpet mod optimizations to reduce the time it takes for the tnt to finish blowing up faster and not having to wait forever for the tnt to finish blowing up, thats what I did for this cannon, added tnt optimizations that helped speed up the process.

That's a great way to do it, exploiting an annoying 'bug' of non entity processing chunks to exploit the game. Seems like this could be used to make minimalistic pearl cannons as well. Definitely not what Notch intended - I heard he didn't even want fast travel in the game.
