This is the best EFHW presentation I have seen on KZbin. Matches my personal experiences very well but also EXPLAINS why those results occur. Well done.

Steve’s (K1RF) overview videos are some of the most comprehensive out there. Truly excellent. This one is as good as his OCF presentation. Just a fantastic collection of knowledge and sources that rivals what you would gather by doing many, many hours of reading online. Many thanks 🙏🏻

I wish I had found this earlier (okay it wasn’t available until recently) as I have been researching this topic for a couple of months and virtually everything I found elsewhere, plus a lot more, is in his presentation. Thanks!

A common construction error you mention is using insulating tape because it creates an air gap between the wire and the toroid. An air gap is what comes to my mind when I see the "crossover wire" method of winding the toroid. Curious about your thoughts on this. Thank you for such a Great presentation!

Well, I haven't watched the video yet.....but surely you have proof to back what you are saying?

Interesting. What lies? You can easily get DXCC on a contest weekend with a 49:1 EFHW and 100 Watts using digital modes. I use either 49:1 EFHW or 9:1 NREF in the field all the time. Small, flexible installation configurations and from the time I show up at a POTA site I can be on air in under 15 minutes. Is it a super efficient antenna that performs like a Yagi at 100 feet, no but I didn't see anyone claim it was a perfect antenna. They are great compromise antennas that get you on air with a lot of bands at very low cost.
@darrellhagan612410 ай бұрын
@@mikesradiorepair Absolutely agree. I use a 49:1 EFHW at home with 100w on all of the bands which it resonates and it works very well. A bit noisy on receive at times compared to my homebrew active RX loop but such is to be expected.....
