I enjoyed the peek behind the curtain into head amp and headphone design. It was nice to learn that Aeon RT is fun and that Asgard is "warm". I also enjoyed hearing you both talk about the music you listened to to support design and build evaluation. Thanks for offering the combo deal on Aeon RT and Asgard for another holiday season.

The way we know that we are watching a couple of Legendary Engineers is: 1) We get some great music recommendations 2) they get so wrapped up in Audiophilia that they forget to tell us how and where we should send them our money 🥹 I’ve sent $1K cash general delivery to San Diego, ya’ll gonna have to arm wrestle for it i guess 🖤 But seriously, thank you both & and I can’t wait!

I absolutely love these 2 guys. What they’ve done for us serious hobbyists in audio is incredible. Value and performance. That is Stoddard and Clark in a nutshell. ❤

I would love to have a glass of wine with these guys while listening to my Schiit stack. And @20:10 PLEASE bring back Sol. Figure it out, we want it, and it will sell out! @20:54 I love my Skoll - great job on that product, made an immediate difference in my system.

The Asgard 3 is such a nice headphone amplifier for the money. I like it with my inexpensive planars. Have never heard a Dan Clark Audio headphone, so I can't speak to his products - although I have read many good reviews of them.

I got both Aeon X variants and they're amazing. They sound different to anything else and seem to convey musical emotion that my other headphones can't. I wholeheartedly recommend them! They're my hungriest cans by far, but the sound they produce justifies it! I love both companies. They've treated me proper when I've needed warranty work.🤓

I have the Freya+ N preamp, really love it. I am getting ready to buy a set of Tyr, or a pair of Vidar 2. I believe the Tyr would be a higher end amp, but the price, specs and reviews of the Vidar 2 make me wonder which I should choose. I can afford to buy the Tyrs, but the diminishing returns thing has me torn. I have no doubt both are very good, definitely better than what I currently have. So what makes a pair of Tyrs the better choice over the Vidar 2? Build quality, technology, sound, or current? Or all of the above. I know the Vidar in mono has more power, but that doesn't tell the whole story. Any thoughts from anybody would be appreciated.

OK, I think this a good deal. My biggest concern is that the headphones are "crappy chocolate." I think that headphones should be worth triple or more the amp. I was looking to buy this amp anyway and I don't have any planar headphones.

The harman curve emerges from statistical data which includes a ton of people who either do not understand sound or are friggin deaf! Harman always has too much ear gain for me (3Khz), and some versions have bass a tad above what I consider neutral ("good" neutral, like old hd650 neutral), but this is less of a problem (I like bass). Down with the shout in headphones! (you hear me, you Stax folks?)

If you can get this deal, get it. I've had this exact setup for a year, and it's end game for a portable setup. I put it on a rack and take it inside, outside. I paired it with an Orchard Audio Pecan Pi streamer running Roon. I run Hart Audio balanced cables. Hart Audio headphone cables. All American setup. I use the Orchard Audio Dac. The Dan Clark headphone cables are a weak point, in my opinion. Run this setup, and you will have all the power and clarity you can tolerate.

@schiitaudio3138 hello folks, any chance you can do an educational video or a website blog describing what you are talking in the two ohms headphones chapter about how to optimize amp to headphones? I have a pair of headphones that sound great in magni hersey low gain but not good on magni3 high or low gain. they are a 32ohm Planar Magnetic headphones

Do you ever plan on adding a pro audio line such as microphone preamps, compressors ect.
@octopodes_nuts2 ай бұрын
I could have sworn that I've seen Jason comment on the forums on his lack of enthusiasm for doing pro gear, but my searching isn't turning anything up besides him joking that we should run the other way if we see him trying to do a pro audio interface. I think compared to the historically wildly overpriced audiophile world, there's already a lot of American manufacturers doing more or less the same things that Schiit would want to do. But I'll dream of a line of 500-series Schiit, regardless.

If you "voice" your sound to a particular album how will this translate to different tracks mixed and mastered by different engineers on different monitors? The biggest difference.... and often radically different sounding tracks. I need the electronics to be as neutral as possible so I have some semblance of a reference. Of course speakers are voiced diffently as well and then there is the room acoustics. All of this makes the radically expensive "high end" ridiculous and really not about "sound " at all. 😂

Meh, closed backs are overrated. Not a good entryway into the hobby when open-backs are far superior technically. Sundara + Jotunheim 2 or Asgard 3 (if on stricter budget) is my recommendation.
@barneyrubble930910 ай бұрын
Closed backs are damned hard to do well which is why there are so many open backs.
