I live in San Diego, California and I love watching garden tours from the same time of year around the world. It's so cool to see which plants can grow in different zones and to see some plants I've never heard of before. Keep the updates coming!

All of your containers look so beautiful! I especially love the two by the front door with begonias, artemesia and rooster grass. Might have to copy those next year! My poor hardy geraniums are looking pretty rough too and my nepeta is really yellow from all the rain. I'm just planting annuals to fill in around them for this summer and disguise them while they recover. Glad to see your garden pulled through the June deluge. Hopefully July and August send us more "average" rain totals instead of tropical storms!

I love my front containers. They are the only ones I had to water, since they are under an overhang. It has been nice not having to water so much. The rain water does make a huge difference. I haven't fertilized once this year. Thanks for watching

All still very pretty despite all the rain. Love all the different colors and textures, that takes talent. Couple questions, will you be adding any type of stuff to the things that need help with yellowing from all the rain and what would you use? And what were the 2 names of the beautiful dahlias?
@floralnhardy73325 ай бұрын
No. I will not do anything to the soil of the yellowing plants. Most my plants are fertilized with chicken manure pellets in the spring and I make my own compost and will apply that in the fall. I can't make a huge amount, so sometimes I have to buy some compost. I am not the best at fertilizing my plants. Some years I do and most years I don't. All of my dahlias I started from seed, except the Waltzing Mathilda Dahlias. I think the seeds were a cactus dahlias mix.Thanks for watching

Oh Susie, just gorgeous!! Everything looks so lush and happy. Just last night I was thinking about you and how you were doing, worried you gave up so its so good to see pretty well all is fine 👍 Your Sun Kings have grown so much, mine are barely bigger than when I planted them the beginning of last year 🤷🏻♀️How many hours of sun do yours get? We have had continuous rain also, nothing close to the amount you have but it sure makes it hard to get out there to do anything with all the mosquitos! My Goats Beard probably grew 2’ feet in the last month ( also new last year) which is fantastic but some of the leaves look like they have Rust but Rust usually doesn’t attack them, any ideas what it would be? Also, have you ever had Thrips? I have 3 beautiful Yellow Columbines separated by many feet and all 3 have Thrips, ever fought those? I’ve read yellow blossoms are prime for Thrips. I’m so glad for you, I understand close up might show more damage but from our view it is luscious ❤️ …and you sound more relaxed and hopeful. Take care Brenda🇨🇦
@floralnhardy73325 ай бұрын
My Sun Kings in the front get at least 6 hours of sun and the ones in my back garden gets around 8 - 10 hours of sun, but they only look as good as they do because of the rain. They tend to scorch if it's too dry. I would cut off the affected foliage of your Goats Beard and see if it stops. I don't use chemicals in my gardens, so I don't know if there is something you could spray on them. I have never had thrips before, so unfortunately I can't help you there. Sorry about that. Thanks so much for watching
