Ive got an amazing story about this: When this movie was filmed in Kamloops BC in 1989/1990 I lived in the area and the main actors visited the home of friends for dinner and I was there! This dude played this song on the piano and lit the whole house up with it - I get tingles now remembering the moment! The song was in my mind for weeks and running into it here brings me back bigtime. Thanks for posting!

My parents had this movie when I was really little and I remember next to nothing about it and was too young to understand the plot well, but for some reason, I remember this song and how it always brought me to tears.❤

In high school, in one of our classes, we were allowed to bring a movie on VHS 📼(yes, I'm old 😂)every now and then and one of our classmates brought this movie. We all loved it. Once it was on cable. I'd watch it all of the time. This is my favorite scene.

@@J_L_A Not that old at all, bro! I was 14 when this came out, and I was on the swim team and ran track. My parents weren't particularly supportive, so I often had a 4 mile walk home waiting for me after my grueling practices. As I walked, I sang "Oh, don't you know, that's the sound of the men working on the chain gang . . . "

July 4th 2024 during an unrelated conversation this man’s voice to mind, a quick KZbin search and shared with a friend….that’s the kind of voice this man has! Only seen the move once in theaters, that scene/performance I’ve seen a thousand times in my mind! My friend, she was blown away the hair stood up on her arms, as did mine.

If you are the real Harry, thank you. I'm a 45 year old Jewish man from Columbus ohio. This song has touched me like no other from the second I heard it in the movie. It's stuck with me from then till now. Unbelievable how moving it is no matter how many times I listen to it. From all the comments I've read when I look this movie up the world feels the same. To touch all those people with just one song wow. Again thank you
