How is he anti-gun?? He's a gun owner!! The 2nd Amendment does not apply to semi-auto rifles, nor does it apply to bolt-action rifles, nor pistols or revolvers. The 2nd Amendment restricts the government!! The technology of the firearm is irrelevant. The restrictions on the government stay the same regardless of the firearm. The second amendment was not written to grant permission for citizens to own and bear firearm. It is forbid's government interference in the right to keep and bear arms. The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed!!

God given rights! No permission slips needed! We have as a country fallen so far behind our 2nd and how it was intended to protect citizens it's ridiculous! Cannot ban common use items, I don't need a permit to defend myself, nor do I have to take training or jump through hoops to defend myself! The constitution was written for simple people to understand not for some fancy lawyers twisting it into knots! Shall not be infringed is simple!! Get it??

I like Matthew, but pushing for red flag laws i don't agree with. Any infringement is unconstitutional and I will never agree with that. Fixing the problem starts at home, parents need to raise their kids better like the way us it's babies were raised.

The only reason he did not answer her question is he is going to try and paint himself as a 2A moderate before he makes his run for governor. When it comes to the second amendment, there’s no moderate, you are either for it or you’re not. They all are moderate until you elect them and then the gun grab is on. @@michaelwduffy ehhhh yes and no. I’m am currently 31. I Was in highschool at the birth of online gaming. And I was a nerd. Spent a good portion of my time playing games.And kept too myself because I valued and preferred being that way at the time. Not to mention had a father that was military and law enforcement so if I wanted to I could have gotten access to weapons at any time. But not once did that thought ever cross my mind. I was taught proper gun safety and usage from a very young age. But overall came out pretty normal. And a pretty normal life and family. The difference was the way I was brought up. It’s all about how you raise them. And unfortunately with today’s day and age and the way the current administration has been running things . Parents unfortunately aren’t allowed to parent anymore. They’re too busy working away just trying to scrape by. Either way. #MAGA2024 thanks for your videos I really enjoy them.

I get McConaughey's efforts on "responsible gun ownership", but they are foolish in my book for a number of reasons. "We need background checks" You already have background checks when you go to buy a gun. The FBI gets the request that verifies you are not a felon or that you are somehow otherwise prohibited. What other background check is needed? "We need to move the minimum age for buying an AR-15 to 21 years of age". I have a hard spot with this one for a couple reasons. First, at 18 people are considered adult in the eyes of the law. They can vote, they face adult punishments for breaking the law, they can get drafted and forced off to war. Yet we continually punish these same people when we want to make some weird point: can't buy beer, can't buy a gun, etc. Additionally, the AR-15 is nothing more than a semi-auto rifle. This becomes an issue for two points. The first is that these rifles account for an extremely minor number of gun deaths so targeting them is foolishness. The other issue is that doing something like this suddenly opens up the door legally to ban all gun sales for people under the age of 21. And the worst part of things like these "common sense reforms" is that they never once actually address the cause of the shootings. What makes someone think that shooting up a school is a good idea? It isn't that they have a gun, it's something else. So we don't want to address that, but do want to virtue signal that we are taking action to stop the violence.

How many gang members and killers and criminals follow the laws that we have now so do you really think they are going to follow any kind of new laws.

Red flag laws might sound good at the onset but the extremely bad thing about them would be the abuse of that very law. Anyone could say your behavior was wrong or they are concerned for your safety etc and you could be flagged and separated from your firearms. These types of laws invite draconian abuse by governmental agencies and or law enforcement!

At 5:21 So called moderates call for "responsible gun ownership" which all lawful people already subscribe, and put forward a bunch of ideas they believe will curb violence by those same lawful people (yeah, I'm confused too). Regarding students and schools, I would like to take Matthew McConaughey on face value and go someway to believe his sentiments are sincere and not influenced by an aversion of the 2nd A, but a call focused only on limiting access to firearms by troubled youths, woke types especially. Trouble is, I can't trust the government who may use such measures to totally disarm the law abiding populace. Give them an inch and they'll take a foot; much more than that and we won't have a leg to stand on.
