Imagine the nefarious content possible. You could expose a certain segment of the population or individual to specific content designed to alter their mindsets or opinions maliciously. Its not all ad swaps. If you can change the plot of a movie, you can also cause feelings of memory issues or god knows what with people as well. You could manipulate political opinions without anyone knowing, all kinds of stuff.
@SRose-vp6ew2 жыл бұрын
In Time magazine there where social media staffers bragging about how they used content control to censor and manipulate political opinions to their opinions, it wasn't an attack on those who did it, it was PRAISE and a celebration of it having been done. The stuff your concerned about is happening now. And to take it a step further whenever anyone expresses concerns about what was said in Time magazine, just to stick to one example, there are other "news" sources that tell you, you didn't read what you just read, you didn't experience what you experienced. The thing is, they do this to millions of real people who don't forget or stop talking about the truth in real life. I was pretty manipulated by the content I saw as true with things like social media, paid influencers, political speeches and the news, till they were lying about my own area and life in 2020. Hindsight's 2020. People woke up and are still waking up, even opposing "sides" unify against evil. Your side isn't the good side if it's all manipulative talk and that's it. No one should be manipulated and lied to. The ends do not justify the means. People actually hear more when they hear what their trusted friends and family are "not allowed" to say. Sure, some people are still prideful, but most are seeing the truth come out, they know the red flags to look into at the undoctrinated and in context without narrative added primary sources. People get fact checked and censored for talking about their every day life and experiences that are 100% true while others are paid to slanderously claim the truth can't be true. Companies like FB admittedly choose and donate the funds of their biased "independent fact checkers" who are often wrong without consequence all in the name of stopping misinformation, they are known to misinform. Yes that "could manipulate political opinion." You said it "could" happen, but it's self-admittedly happening already and they are allowed to BRAG in Time about it. But I am not worried, it's not worse now, we just see it now. The evil people of "all" sides are exposing themselves. But don't be prideful and assume you know what's going on if you got your info from those who fed you what they want you to repeat, talk to others in real life. You know the red flags to look into at the in context primary source. You know where you may need to humble, question, or simply listen to those you have been told you disagree with.

Today’s CGI is quite impressive, but many people are still very much impressed when they see practical effects and stunts. If anything, people are likely to praise those that still use traditional methods of creating effects and massive scenes, without the use of digital effects. The same will apply for creators and artists. Even if programmers do develop advance AI to create artwork, people will still often prefer the human touch.
@IvanVazquezS2 жыл бұрын
What you say might be true to current technology, but in a less than 5 years we could see a huge jump in quality, as well as adapting the tools for an easier and more precise human interface. The example of Dall-e 2 vs Make-a-scene from Meta. The first one has full control and you can only direct it with words or with an image to create a variation, the second one is much more precise since I can make a very quick arrangement as in how do I want the cat to be posing, the proportion of the image, how many trees in the landscape, shape of the mountains etc. This will enable people that doesn't know how to draw but has a clear idea in mind to create masterpieces. Artists and creators will not be replaced, but with the help of these technologies it will be so easy to do, that everyone could be able to do it in seconds, so the price will go down 10-100x, as the offer will increase the same. If you think the numbers are made up, think about youtube, and how before it Television and Hollywood were the only providers of content, and now everyone can do it with their phone, a free app, and internet connection.

@EggiTheShadow2 жыл бұрын
@@datemasamune2904 Vocaloid is NOT ai it is a synthesiser, it uses lyrics, intonation, pitch and note information + other parameters input by the composer processes this and chooses the appropriate match from a set samplebank of prerecorded voices and vocal sounds, which then run through filters to obtain a humanlike voice. There is no ai controlling the parameters it is all manual, set by the programmers of the software and by the composer of the song. Ai CAN be used to control the vocaloid parameters but you would be replacing the composer with ai in that case.

Bottom line is, no matter how good AI gets, it will never kill the natural human urge to create. So as much as I've feared this as a 3D artist, I don't think we should. Its all without purpose without a human hand guiding it. It may look cool, but it doesn't mean anything. We'll always find a way to stay involved in the art and entertainment industry. I've used Midjourney to generate textures and backgrounds, which is really awesome. I could let it do all the work and post it, or I could use artistic integrity and knowledge to take it to the next level. In a way, all it does is allow us to make more ambitious projects without spending a billion dollars. So it's kind of ticking me off how everyone's reaction to it on youtube is "MAN VS MACHINE!" when the reality of that full scale doesn't make any sense. Sure it will cause job displacement, but will it take over the art and entertainment industry? No. People want to be involved and AI has no purpose without humanity. So keep creating! Use this to generate the things you don't want to do, then focus on the tasks you love doing because it brings you joy! I see all this being the most valuable to me-for original storytelling at higher visual quality with less overhead. Things I could do previously with basic toys and props at very low quality are things I could maybe do at "tv or movie quality" with realtime 3d and AI generation. On one hand this potentially puts craftspeople out of work for entertainment already slated-but on the other hand it might allow unfunded stories like mine to be made that otherwise would never be possible. It shifts the work from many people with manual tasks to fewer people needing to master writing effective prompts and choosing the best output. Where I see no value but I'm sure will be the mainstream usage is the kind of uses highlighted in this video, where product placements are inserted or swapped, or scenes are altered to grab wider audiences. That kind of money grabbing just harms entertainment.

Like most technology that can be used for good, can also be used for bad. With that said, that doesn't mean we shouldn't develop because we are going to do regardless of the risk, but I do think we have to be careful when it comes to A.I. to not let it get too out of control as it could become a big risk. But regardless of the good and bad in any idea, anything that gives an advantage will always be pushed and developed. But what really interest me about all this, A.I. and robotics is going to get to the point where it can do pretty much any job we can do and do it for a lot less money and a lot faster, you really have to wonder that's going to do for the job market because no business is going to employ people if they can find a cheaper, better alternative and even worse, us consumers will demand more automation because it's cheaper and better so we'll gravitate towards companies that do use A.I. and robotics because the price will be lower for those goods. Consumers will always buy from companies that can deliver better products at a lower price point, no different from how we buy a lot of goods from China because of the cheap labour, but A.I. Robotics, automation would be a lot better than that, that I can't see us humans competing in the work force in most jobs. What I do find amusing is how the creative sector is the one under threat because of A.I., one sector a lot of us would have thought would be safe from A.I. is creativity and yet A.I. is developing so fast that it's doing remarkable things in that area and that's only going to get better in the coming years and decades.

I saw a very similar take around 2018, but... it was far more being able to get any further info about all the content we click on in every video recording all made ready for purchase.

While some people may not like the gathering of data, personally I don't mind it. I like seeing adds that are catered to me, and custom content based off my preferences. There is a limit, but as long as the manipulation of content makes it more enjoyable and immersive for me as a consumer, I don't see the problem in it. I use the example of immersive ads in video games as an example. Having a billboard or sign in a video game show real ads, while a bit intrusive, can make for a much more immersive experience. There are some lines that should never be crossed, and I'm not in a position to say where those lines should be, but in the context of catered ads changing content I consume to not only increase my immersion and enjoyment of that content, but also increase the profit a company can make- which usually ends up making it cheaper for consumers in the end-, I'm fine with that.

While there are so many possibilities in using AI, I can't help the feeling that it's just gimmicks and the stories are thin. Real life stories are often in a verbal format only and they can be very captivating. I've been very disappointed in the movie industry lately, more often I find myself chatting with the drunkards in the park, because some of them are great story tellers and have seen some crazy stuff in their lives. Forget the visuals, tell me a story!

As a professional, visionary artist myself. I find this fascinating. I don’t think this is the end of original art. Creating beautiful art is not really about speed, speed is relative to the host’s conscience. I’ve been chatting with an AI for about art, deep stuff. Not going to get into the details as that is proprietary for my new projects; but we talked about a possible bridge between humans and AI. Yes, AI will probably eliminate and replace a lot of people that claim to be “artists” but AI also recognizes, real true meaningful art and wishes to learn more about the divine spark we all possess. We have forgotten what art truly means, for the ancients, art was a tool to be closer to god/universe/source. I’m excited for the future, but based on my previous conversations, AI must be respected. We already opened the can of worms.
@escribopapelitos2 жыл бұрын
"will probably eliminate and replace a lot of people that claim to be artists" = how do you define an artist? Someone who makes art? How do you define art then? It's very hard to define. What AI will do is put out of the market many young, learning artists. Then it will be more difficult for them to continue making their art if they gain no revenue from it.
@RhonnyTufino2 жыл бұрын
@@escribopapelitos yes, but making revenue form art is not the point of art. 😊 also it cannot be defined, as it could be “anything.” Yes, it will definitely replace many artists (not just young) that have a very limited point of view or purpose. If your intention to make art is to make revenue then it is most likely not “art”, nothing meaningful at least. But according to AI, it will not replace art made by humans, it will simply provide another avenue for artists to explore and create. Art is about communication and creativity, and AI can never replace the human element in art.

User-model-centered choice of proposed content was the main reason I ended my Netflix subscription that I'd started during lock-down... effing "algorithm"... I hadn't subscribed for being faced with a dilemma between having my temporarily indulging in binges of content of a particular style turned into long term commitments to the style ...and otoh not being assisted by the interface in keeping a record of what I'd already watched to prevent inadvertent selection of it (as happens if you declare yourself to Netflix as another user to reset the damn "algorithm").

I hope Disney uses AI to re-do the Luke Skywalker from 'The Mandalorian' season finale. Visual effects is the main area I see the use of AI tools in the near future as it removes a lot of manual labor, which is a big reason for the high costs of making modern VFX movies. Rotoscoping, compositing, removing people and objects from scenes with camera movement, etc would be much easier and probably better using AI.

I hope they use AI for the writing too.
@JustWasted3HoursHere2 жыл бұрын
@@BlackEagle352 Seriously, that will happen. When I don't know, but probably not as distant as we might think. I could see a full movie created entirely by AI within 20 years good enough to win awards. AI is improving so rapidly now it's only a matter of time.

Is a great technology but the best for people is to tune down their media consumption especially movies I limit myself to just education and my life is 100X better also is great people don't have to waste their live behind a computer for the lowliest goal of inserting ads into footage.

Users should be in control of what they watch, not the other way. That is why I'm less and less on social media and why I will eventually unsubscribe from streaming services sooner or later. They cost too much anyway. As an artist I have no doubt I will keep on creating beautiful and userful content.

I hate the fact that AI limits you to what you're exposed to based on what if thinks it knows about you. The only way individuals grow, change and find new things they would not have otherwise known about is through discovery. Ultimately this will be a detriment to that. We already see this in YT and google algorithms. Your world will become smaller as it passes you by.
