Recent sub, like what you guys do! You have an undeniable chemistry and you both clearly have a huge love of music, PERIOD. For the people who tell you 'you are pausing it too long', to them I say "go watch the video itself!" the conversations are usually anecdotes from your respective lives or talking about mechanics of the song. Will continue to enjoy your reactions, thanks!

One thing I want to point out, when Tim is singing the vocals, it's Adam Chance that's holding down the bass line. It's easy to spot how seamlessly Austin (high tenor) and Rob (lead tenor) trade off, but really pay attention to how the bass trade off. It's a masterpiece. And I don't think Chance gets nearly enough credit for how well he blends and helps hold the rhythm. Great work, guys! Please do more!

I would highly recommend not doing "May Day" until you have done several of their other covers so you can get acclimated to their voices. "May Day" will blow your mind of every thing you had originally though you had heard them do. Try "When a Man Loves a Woman". I believe four of the guys have music degrees. I'm sure someone has posted, but Adam Rupp is a 2 time US Beat Box Champion.

Like you I have sung for many years in various choral groups. I have done a lot of solo work as well and even a little bit of directing. So I would like you to look up a video they have on KZbin of their Christmas show in which they get Austin to show you his talent by having him sing a song from Les Miserables called "Bring him Home". Actually, Austin’s channel is under _theAustinBrown. AustinBrown is a different young guy singing. There is no other group like Home Free! Austin’s voice is amazing, as is Tim’s. Then you add Adam’s beatboxing, Rob’s tenor runs, & Chance’s baritone/bass, & their individual qualities & talents, and it’s no wonder they have sold out shows! The videos draw everyone in, & they’re just as incredible live! 🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️

Austin has been vocally trained to get rid of his southern accent. Check out Austin singing Unchained Melody as he has a YT channel. When he joined Home Free they told him in need to sing with his southern accent. Austin Brown, who was born and raised in Tifton, Georgia, is no stranger when it comes to music. He has been traveling with his father all over the Southeast with his father’s gospel quartet. The son of a Southern gospel singer, Brown’s earliest memories growing up in Tifton, Georgia, involve the stage and, coincidentally, quartet-style harmony. After playing lead in several of his high school productions, Brown went on to pursue a degree in music theater. His first post-college gig was singing on cruise ships, which sent him around the world - but more importantly, led him to Home Free. “I saw their show, they saw my show, we got drunk together, and the rest, as they say, is history,” Brown recalls with a laugh. It's a shame when people can't or won't understand the difference between making something out of thin air, and polishing an already great performance - it's obvious when you see amateur phone videos of these guys singing live how good they actually are, but that's no reason not to put in the extra to make a truly professional performance. Somebody told you about Darren Rust, who does a lot of the arranging, as well as producing for Home Free - they often semi-jokingly refer to him as their sixth member. He's a good singer in his own right - the bass for Mid-western vocal group The Blenders, so he knows a lot about how to get the best out of their combined talents.

Man....what a freakin GREAT reaction! It was like the first time I saw it too.. Speaking of "Live" as opposed to a recorded video, I totally get what you're saying. And you mentioned their first rendition of "Ring of Fire" that was live and the second one with Avi that was recorded, etc. I always tell people to go back and watch the first one they did on 'The Sing-Off" because it was LIVE and you can get a better idea of Tim's vocal range. Not to mention the last note he hit got a standing ovation from the judges as well as the crowd. Adams beatboxing in that one was really a standout as well. I like both versions but actually prefer the first. So, just a suggestion but I think youd be glad you did. Again, loved your reaction. So glad you're continuing to react to Home Free!

I love you guys! Finally, somebody who can actually appreciate everything Tim is doing. Everybody is crazy about his awesome low voice, but there's so much more going on and he's so humble about it! He always says, "Yeah I'm just imitating a bass", like it's nothing! To me, that's what sets him apart from all the other groups. He's got style! 😉 Plus, Chance (baritone/bass) is often doing the same as he and Tim swap parts, seamlessly, all the time throughout a song, like Rob and Austin do. I have such high appreciation for these lovable guys! For Austin's best, check out "When A Man Loves A Woman", for Tim, check out, "Hillbilly Bone (fun!), or "In The Blood". For Chance, "I Can't Outrun You". Thx for the fun reaction guys!

Pay attention guys. Tim also does beat boxing. It's hard to catch, but he does. The more videos you watch. Never heard anybody catch it before on a reaction. They did this song to the T!!!! Just better I think.

Guys, don't worry about the pausing, because your banter was credible and awesome. You guys really disected the song amazingly. I really hope you can get to more Home Free, they have some really cool original songs as well like "Dive Bar Saints" that was written specifically for them, also Lonely Girl's World, Land of the Free (co-written by Tim Foust), Why Not?, When you walk in, and of course the covers like, Country Roads, May Day, American Pie (with Don McLean), "I still haven't found what I'm looking for" a U2 cover & collab with Peter Hollens and Helplessly Hoping (Crosby, Stills & Nash cover) the best 5 part harmoney you have ever heard, and How Great Thou Art, another 5 part harmoney that will blow your mind.

Tim Foust is bass and is from Texas. Guy in back right is Adam Chance who can sing bass but he is the baritone. The lead in this is Rob Lundquist who is tenor. Austin Brown is the high tenor and is from Georgia. And of course you know Adam Rupp. All of these guys have been together since 2013 except for Adam Chance who joined in 2017 and replaced Chris Rupo who was the previous baritone and brother to Adam Rupp who started the band in 1999.

Home Free's producer is absolutely brilliant and he's also the one who arranges most of Home Free's songs these days. His name is Darren Rust and he's also a singer in the a cappella group The Blenders.

Adam Chance is doing the "moving instrumental bass" in this where as Tim is doing the pedals and then sing "vocal bass" on chorus. Oh, and the terms you were looking for regarding Austin were placement and timbre.

LMAO I'm 50, taught myself to read music and play piano at 6 to the song Alley Cat (Gpa showed me the first 3 notes, figured it from there), played slide and valve trombone from grade 5 to past college years, learned flute, clarinet and sax, sang choir... taught myself guitar at age 17 to the song Call of Ktulu on acoustic (that's right, I don't do anything easy) and won a full scholarship for music... and I STILL don't know all the terminology! My son does, and he struggles to play music lol talent isn't what ya know, it's what you do and recognize :) you guys do beautifully.
