Interesting list of books you're reading, inspirational. A lot of people next year are going to embrace reading what is on their bookshelves or use the library in 2025. That way we get them off our shelves and into donation places. And then we won't feel so guilty buying and buying books, running out of space. I will still buy from two charity type sales-library book sales and a hospital book sale. I used to just buy too much of books that are not for me. Now I really read a couple of pages of a book before purchasing it. It helps. Enjoy your holiday, Angela. See you when you come back.

Love seeing the Winnie The Pooh books behind you. Especially ‘When We Were Very Young’. Not many people realise that AA Milne wrote gorgeous poetry for children. In case you weren’t aware the next book is ‘And Now We Are Six’. I think I need to grab them from my bookshelf and enjoy them again. Thanks for reminding me of these wonderful books!

I just want to say thank you for all the wonderful videos you have posted! You have such a relaxed and "uncompetitive" way to talk about books and reading and have brought back the joy in reading to me.🙂

❤📚📚❤️ Hello, Angela. The guest/grandchildrens room looks great. I've never heard of Three Keys, but it's going on the list! I hope you have a lovely Christmas. I'll look forward to the new content in 2025! Just do the reading ...love it!!! I'm caught up on my reading and reading Marilla of Green Gables by Sarah McCoy right now. I plan on taking my time with my very last book of the year, The Nightingale, by Kristin Hannah.

About 20 years ago i realized that my book buying habit was unsustainable. Besides the expense, I was running out of storage space. I got myself a library card and started putting holds on books I wanted to read. Some of them I was 245th or so in line so I had to wait my turn but there are always lots of books to read. When digital books and audio books became popular, the library app Libby and I became fast friends. I don’t have an ereader but my IPad works. i read upwards of 100 books a year so you can do the math what that would mean in 20 years. I’m grateful to my library. And for those who wonder about how authors get compensated for their writing when you get their book for free, in Canada an author receives a small fee from the Canada Arts Council everytime their book is borrowed from a Canadian library. It’s a win win! Thanks as always for a great video!💕🇨🇦

Enjoy the holiday break! I have enjoyed your channel and listening to your thoughts on books this year :) Of the classics mentioned, I've read The Odyssey and The Hobbit (i recommend both), and Anna Karenina has been on my tbr for years but has seemed too daunting for me 😅

Be assured; you’re already a good person. Yes, reading should be fun, not a chore. My Brilliant Career was a movie in the states back in late 70s, early 80s which I loved so then I tried reading the book a few times but couldn’t get into it. Maybe I’ll try it again now that I’m ancient which is no reflection on the book.

Three Keys sounds great, I'll be looking out for that! I'm reading my Christmas books now that I collect through the year. In my opinion you can't go wrong with Cathy Bramley or Heidi Swain. I'm looking forward to your summer content, as we slip into our coldest months here in England ❄️

Angela, thank you for all the wonderful videos this year. Am glad you’re taking a break over Christmas, do not fear we will all be here when you return😊I always pick up Little Women at this time of year and A Child’s Christmas in Wales.

I always read Winter Solstice by Rosamunde Pilcher (or "pilchard" as my philistine ex used to call her 🙄). Thanks Angela for all your videos this year, your voice is so calming and your thoughts well considered. I started reading the Lucy Worsley book on the English and their apparent fascination with murder but I hit a slump and haven't read anything for weeks. I also love the Australian accent and even have my smart speakers set to "Aussie male". I was born with a deep love and "knowledge" of Australia, even though I've never been there in this lifetime. At 6 yrs o!d I talked about it, yet I grew up in an English farm and my parents didn't travel so where did this come from? The memories I sense are mainly outback and bush areas, which can't be satisfactorily explained and an interest in first nation art and beliefs. I've considered doing past life regression but at 62 haven't yet got around to it! Would love to see your garden and the area you live in, if you can film without identifying your address. I hope you have a wonderful holiday and find time for lots of great books. X

Three Keys is available at Blackwell’s in the UK and they ship to Australia for free. So funny that you mention My Brilliant Career. I just recently picked up a copy with the same thoughts as you. I recall that the film with Judy Davis is very good too.

As 'that mom lady' Three Keys sounds relatable. I collect small children and dogs if I sit in the park and people hand me wallets and babies in emergencies. I could be a Bond villian. I blame Stone Yard Devotional for the mice.
