This video reminds me; that being thankful is a revelation that some people never aquire. Thankfulness draws more things to you to be thankful for. Even if at a certain moment, you only have the air you breathe to be thankful for. It's so beautiful the way you brought that idea out in this video. Love your beautiful heart and the way you help so many.

I started following you when you lived in your other house. Megan, you make such a impact in so many lives, your positivity, your ability to be vulnerable even in the scariest of situations. Your faith in God, the love you have for your family, your love of homemaking. I'm so looking forward to what you will bring to this channel in 2025. Merry Christmas and Blessings in the New Year. One thing I know for sure, when we walk through those tough times, God is right there with us as we walk through the thick of it. Sending much love from Florida.

When I first started watching you I had a baby and I was in a tough emotional place because I had lost my father the year prior and it was a pretty traumatic situation so I was having trouble being present and as nurturing as I had imagined I would be when I had a baby. I was fearful and anxious much of the time. Watching you encouraged me to find the joy in motherhood and I am so very grateful, but I must admit there was a certain ease about your presentation of motherhood that I always felt inferior to. It looked so much easier for you than it was for me. Watching you this year has been such a special experience for me because I’ve felt such communion WITH you. You became more real to me and I am so humbled by your sharing of hard things because it is evident that it has changed you as a person and as a mom. I felt like the weight I have felt in my heart while sustaining and nurturing young life has been reflected and shared by your experience and it has made me feel stronger and more capable as a mother. To make a long story longer- I have prayed for you and your family for a long time and will continue to do so. Thank you for being a light in a sometimes dark world and please know that your experience has served to help at least one person navigate the heavy stuff in life. God bless you and your family and MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I wait for your videos each week. You are a good person with a wonderful family. You are open and honest, which is so refreshing. Your children are precious. Thanks. Merry Christmas. My father worked at Bethlehem Steel for 31 years as a production foreman in the Open Hearth where the made the actual steel. His area made the steel for WWII. It was a rough job. He was a good father and a wonderful Godly man. I miss him, but I know he is in Heaven and I will be with him again, and with my mother and family. God is so good.

Megan, I am in the same place as you as 2025 is near, but in a very different stage of life. My husband was seriously ill at the beginning of 2024, he was out of work for months and in the ICU for weeks with recovery taking many more months once he was home. Our daughter became pregnant out of wedlock, my son lost his job and Black Friday I was in a horrible car wreck and will be recovering physically well into next year. I want to be quiet, calm, intentional in 2025. And, our granddaughter is the star our family needed to end this year! God bless you and your family this Christmas season. I enjoy watching your family grow, love, and being you.

Your thoughts on being thankful with contentment is something I've not thought about. But it reminds me of a dark time I went through when I learned the difference between praying in faith or in desperation. Thank God for His patience and love during our learning. You inspired me to choose a word and mine for 2024 has been BALANCE. I reminded myself of it often. I told my sister about it and she chose FOCUS. Thanks for sharing your heart. Twins are a whole different game than singletons! 😂 But oh my, twins are such a blessing and joy!

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 - Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day. For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal. This has been a huge encouragement to me this year going through some health challenges! Love the verses you quoted in Philippians 4!

I just listened to Lisa’s Simple Farmhouse Podcast with Bread Beckers and it had such good info for freshly milled bread!! Laundry: when we renovated, we built ‘laundry vault drawers’ basically drawers large enough to hold a rectangle laundry basket and trained kids to bring laundry to the correct drawer….One for whites, one for colors, one for towels. When one is full, I wash that load. I love hearing your perspective on things. It makes me think about things deeper or differently. Thank you! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family! ❤

I lost my husband of 40 years in August and since his death I have found that I have no patience with myself. Needless to say my One Word for 2025 will be patience. My current word was Focus, little did I know I would first focus on God and His Word reading the Day by Day Chronological Bible and will have read the entire Bible this year. My other focus was on my husband and provide the care he needed. I was fortunate to be his caregiver at home until the end of his life and keep him out of the hospital or nursing home.

I chose to deal with the hand I'm dealt Megan much the same. This last 5 years has been somewhat busy let's say with illness and hospitals, I look at my hand and say, I'm fortunate in that so many are far worse off than myself & the situation could have been far far worse for me than how it's turned out. I make vision boards rather than put pressure on myself to complete something I may not be able to etc as, well life has a habit of throwing balls at us. I think your word for year should be ' Cope ' because that is what we do in every single situation, good or not so, but we cope and will continue to do so.its one thing we can always count on doing even if it's the last thing we feel we have energy for.. we COPE. Wishing you and your family a wonderful Christmas and Blessings in abundance for the upcoming new year. 🎄.

We make bread almost everyday with freshly milled flour. We have our recipe but honestly I find that the biggest thing is to make sure you knead it well!! (I will let it knead in our mixer for a minute or so but I find that by hand is SO much faster and it turns out better.) 2 cups warm water 1/3 cup sugar 1 T. of yeast (slightly mix and let rest 5 minutes) add 1/3 cup oil of choice and mix then add 5-6 cups freshly milled flour 1/3 cup of white flour 1 T. salt 1 T. lecithin (we normally don't add this but we have in the past to increase the quality of the bread) let it combine in the mixer until its pulled together for a minute or 2 then knead by hand 100 times put in a warm place for about an hour form the dough however you want let it rise again for another hour bake at 350 for 20-30+ minutes depending on how you formed it (we use the same recipe for EVERYTHING rolls, loaves, French loaves, cinnamon buns, ect.)

First of all. Thank you for always inviting us to your thoughs and family. 2 things; 1. When the Taliban did a takeover in Afghanistan in 2021, the main message from the people of Afghanistan to the outer world was "live your life, enjoy your freedom for us, as we no longer can" and I have been taken that with me since. I can live, enjoy, and be grateful for my life. I have the freedom and the capacity. 2. Sleeping together as a family, getting hugs are both good for our nervous system, to calm it down but also to feel safe and secure according to research. Also, I have a friend who has as a goal to never end the hugs with her children first . She always let's them end them. Sometimes they only come for a second and need a quick endurance but sometimes they need to sit for longer and feel the closeness and I really like that idea, to never be the one who end the hugs first. ❤

Love all the ideas that you suggested for a vision board! I think my theme for next year will be FOCUS ... I need to focus more on what is important to me in my life and for my family. I will be setting a goal to start my days with Jesus by reading the scriptures and also read Joshua Becker's book titled 'Things that Matter." In addition, I need to simplify my home and meal planning. Wishing your family a fantastic Christmas week & a Happy New Year!

Something that came to mind when you were sharing about the ferris wheel photo. I know that things that were battles for me when I was your age were no longer battles the older I got. Meaning at a younger age, it seems everything can be a battle. But as one ages, battles becomes few and far between because of learning to let go of so much more. Things that were worth the fight at 30, are not at 60. Anyway, something to look forward to.
