Happy Holidays! I hope you all are having an amazing holiday season. I want to thank you all so so much for being part of Cerro Gordo. This past year has been possibly the best of my life, and I have a lot of people to thank for it.
I'm looking forward to the next year and seeing how the town continues to grow and evolve! Hope you stick around for it!
Thank you!!

To anyone concerned about him, he's ok. He posted this a couple of days ago : Hey guys! Sorry for the sporadic nature recently. I pushed very hard last year to deliver 30-45 minute videos every week. To be fully honest, I burned myself out a bit. It started to become too hard to handle. I let too many things fall by the wayside, including my mental (and physical) health. This is all so new to me and living in such a public way can be complicated. Two years ago I didn't have any public 'persona' really. It's brought SO many amazing things to the town. But also impacts me more than I thought. The pressure of living up to those expectations has gotten to me a lot recently. I will get back on a more regular schedule, but they may not be weekly. At least temporarily. I need to fully reconnect back with the property again. I hope that makes sense?

Hopefully winter will give you chance to recharge your batteries and give you new energy to continue this amazing calling as the weather improves. I've been watching your channel for just a few weeks and bingeing on the videos from the beginning. The landscape at Cerra Gordo is way different from what I'm used to here in Northeast Pennsylvania but the love of exploration and history I can totally relate to and appreciate. My favorite adventure and exploration has always been around the railroads here, some active some abandoned. I wander around and find artifacts and imagine the lives of the rail workers and people who's lives they affected and contribution to the greatness this country once was. There just seemed to be a cohesion to the cause of progress and it included everyone. Hard to believe in this day and age when it seems hard to get any two people's or groups to agree on anything for the greater good. over...but I also respect your thoughts you share with everyone about self reflection in the face of the monumental task you have taken on to preserve a part of American history against the ravages of time. That labor is one of love and it shows, I'm grateful there still people who care. I'll be watching, peace✌️

I am inspired by what you are doing to revive Cerro Gordo. My first experience in that amazing old mining town was a camping trip in 1963 at the age of 7. By far my favorite part of my home state has been the Owens Valley. I have camped and hiked all over the White, Inyo and Coso Mountains and have been up Cerro Gordo Rd often enough to get good at changing flat tires. Haven't been to Cerro Gordo in maybe 20 years now but every time I pass by on the way to another awesome Owens Valley vacation, I feel the allure of that wonderful piece of California history.

Beautiful. It's easy to become obsessed with the fore or aft of the movement of history. Honoring the past, while pushing forward elsewhere. Remembering Cerro Gordo, doesn't especially bring us closer to some of the future achievements I want to see happen: moon bases, Martian colonies, and a plentitude of space stations to name a few. But, we cannot forget our past. We cannot ignore and offhandedly dismiss our ancestors who worked so hard, to lay the social, material, and moral groundwork of our civilization. Honor their achievement, as we hope our children will honor ours. In doing so, we inspire wayward brothers and sisters to join us, to become one of us, forming a culture around that which is meaningful. This is meaningful.

I can't believe we just discovered your project. How wonderful! Can't wait to watch more videos to see how it developed and its ongoing evolution. As far as jewelry from your silver, I would think a plain, irregular, kind of round, polished small drop of silver (not a teardrop) hung from a silver chain would be very appealing to both men and women alike who love your project. Simple, but powerful in its symbolism of potential. A drop of silver - not formed into something different - or someone else's idea of what it should be - other than what it is. Who does that? Raw beauty.

We’re across the country intently following everything going on up there and cheering you on. We’re already saving money as an extended family to come up and stay in the hotel when it’s done. If it wasn’t for the pandemic we’d probably have done a volunteer vacation by now. Cerro Gordo is so special and Brent is wonderful for sharing it with all of us.

Merry Christmas Brent. I hope this next year brings you many more friends and water. You are right Cerro Gordo is a collective dream. Everyone wants to see it restored. You are responsible for igniting the spark that brought the life and the love back to an old forgotten town it the top of a mountain. You have come a long day from the guy who went up a couple years ago in the little 2 wheel drive pick up truck that has no clue what he was getting into. Your have really grown and come into your own. Many blessing.

Wow Brent... I very rarely comment on videos. But you have come so so far not only as the caretaker/rebuilder of Cerro Gordo but as a creator and video editor. The visuals, the story telling, the.... everything... has grown and become so good. Top notch production is an understatement. I'm so glad I found these videos over a year ago. Thank you for all the hours of amazing entertainment. I hope I can one day come see that beautiful place. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
