As someone who has lived in Japan, I am SO pleased to see your posting. Yes, I can tell you the characterisation in this series is so 'spot on' (accurate) in its portrayal of certain types. Inspector Thursday for example, is a perfect portrayal of the best of a particular generation of men, and the tensions in his family, with his daughter for example, precisely summarises what happened when the generation that produced The Beatles clashed with their more conservative parents (think of the Lennon-McCartney song, She's Leaving Home!). So glad that someone in Japan could see this!

Me too! The tension when Fred Thursday's daughter left home exactly summarises the generational clashes that took place in families. I am reminded of the Beatles' song She's Leaving Home, and of an incident in my own family. Joan describes, when confronted by her father, why she wants something different - ''I'm not like you and Mum''. Indeed. Brilliant.

I think the young endeavor was a little know it all ,and arrogant ,as I think he is meant to be portrayed ,then the older morse mellowed and learnt his place .😊I really loved morses as he aged ,and adored his eyes .❤

I'm not familiar with Sara Vickers, but I was playing a video game called Grid Legends. This game released, I believe 2022. There's this narrator of sorts that's in the "story" of the game. A woman going by the name Claire. I looked her up and found this. Obviously she's talented, but damn she's hot. -Hailing from the 313

So I’m not the only one who’s come from grid legends?

I knew that he was a scouser, but not that she was Scottish. Great series, sometimes you want to shout at him, as he sometimes seems to make wrong choices.

i think if joan had sisters they would very likely be played by sabrina bartlett from the larkins charlotte ritchie from ghosts and of course grantchester, zoe tapper from grace and susanah fielding from this time

I miss the Endeavour and preferred it over Morse, I thought the Morse was a little to arrogant
@carolabecker8219 Жыл бұрын
That is the progression of his life and what he becomes. Morse IS Endeavour after all.

See if he had just communicated better with Monica he probably would’ve ended up happy
@keeprollin99112 ай бұрын
that's true. everyone always forgets about monica, but i think they genuinely liked each other, and morse was happy with her.

La verita e che joan lo ha perso il giorno che gli ha chiesto di frequentare un altra donna e poi non si e mai fidato compleamente di lei..troppe bugie

Jim is much more stable and I think after all of Joan’s mistakes that’s definitely something she sees… she gravitates towards Jim and he take his opportunity with her at a time where Morse is distant, flaky, obviously struggling but not the man anyone would hope for him to be and not as reliable as he wants to be. Considering Joan’s past with unrealiable men, it makes sense she would eventually be a little more wise to that.

Joan Thursday is one of the worst human beings I've ever seen in fiction. Just a bad, bad person.
